I just picked a beautiful little lady away from the main road today and put her in a safer location nearby with some food. I didn't want to move her too far incase I moved her too far from her babies. A beautiful moment. She was very hungry and chomped away. I hope she stays safe.

Love these little animals, turning my garden into a haven for all wildlife but especially for hedgehogs. For the first time last summer a female gave birth to 4 hoglets in one of the hedgehog houses. People behind the wheel need to slow end hell down, I don't know how anyone could hit it run over these precious little creatures, I'm always on the lookout for animals in the road when driving. Despite what this video suggests though we should never try & treat hedgehogs ourselves, they are very complex animals health wise & no pet sprays for ticks or fleas should EVER be used, not to mention a high tick burden is often an indicator of other health issues, if you have concerns contact you nearest hedgehog rescue & wildlife rescue centre for advice.

Very well put together documentary, but it's a little out of date now. Hedgehogs are extremely endangered now in the UK, and they aren't very adaptable to human development. Hedgehogs should not be out in daylight, so if you see one, you should contact a wildlife sanctuary immediately while keeping an eye on it

@@ArtyMars I had an African Pygmy hedgehog when I was younger… rescued from an animal hoarder who had unalived himself. She was the cutest thing, and my dog and her became best friends and would cuddle together. We’d also take her camping with us. You have to socialize them young though, and handle them lots… or else they’ll never really open up to you, as they’re very skittish.
