I used to own a hedgehog like this little guy. He had long ears, pointy nose and brown face just like this! Our spiked little vampire, haha. Gosh we loved him so much, the whole house was his playground! Would feed him round with his favorite crickets, hoppers and mealworms. I had him for 7 years long until he passed away. It's been more than 10 years but we still miss him, rest in peace our little Spikey.

This is the fakest nature docmentary Ive ever seen lol. They just spliced together a video of an owl hunting a gerbil, and several videos of hedgehogs. Unless hedgehogs have the ability to teleport, this hedgehog somehow managed to cross a sand dune, a flower pasture, a field of brown dry grass, another sand dune, and dug out the entrance to it's burrow in the time it takes an owl to swoop in for a kill. Then they quickly cut between a viper striking at something off screen, (probably at a stick held by one of the crew), then to the hedgehog jumping forward a bit towards something that is again, conveniently just out-of-shot (a bit of tempting bait maybe?), then to the hedgehog chewing something once again offscreen, then the vipers body being drug away by something that is, surprise surprise, OUT OF SCREEN! Either these are the worst cameramen in the nature documentary industry, or all of these animals were filmed seperately.

That slice was the work of a BBC issued flip knife. The hedgehog was probably in it's holding box while the snake was taken out of it's own box and put in place for the scene. Then they let the hedgehog get up close for a few shots. Hedgehog takes several bites and is of no use to the crew anymore, so the crew kill the snake which explains why we do not see the actual attack or aftermath. Only the lifeless snake being dragged away by something off camera, that has the force and demeanour of a human hand pulling it off camera. Wonder how many boxes of animals they had to import for this episode?

Also, they seem to be immune to toxic animals like a viper or a scorpion. So it shouldn't be a surprise if it eats a viper. And since they're opportunist, they'll eat almost anything.
