When Yehat came to help in the last battle along with this music I was surprised and I felt very emotional. I still remember that day.

Indeed. That scene, especially with the surprise reveal along with it (assuming you did the proper side-stuff, of course) made what was already looking to be a fantastic climax, even more energizing! Hope shining from darkness. Man, as a teenager, there was just so much about this game that made it so much more than "just a game" - a story that even modern games have a hard time living up to in my eyes. And the music combined with that story? Well, there's a reason I still love this game 30+ years later!

I played SC2 back when it first came out. Man, I love that game. Epic story, epic fun gameplay...and the Yehat, coolest race ever. Love how they were given Scottish voices in the 3DO version, and thus in Ur-Quan masters too lol.

I remember playing SC2 when it was released for free many years after. It didn't have any of the voices, I don't think. I still enjoyed the game, but replaying it now with the HD graphics, full voices, and remixed songs, it was just amazing. With a few UI improvements, the game would be considered an incredible indie game if it were released in 2023. I especially liked the Yehat voiceover and music in the game. Just had so much complexity and depth. You really could feel their pain.

Back in DOS times there was an extractor that ripped all the songs from a larger game file. A couple of the tunes were corrupted after the extraction. I think they all were in .MOD format but I really don't remember what file it was. Probably some .PAK file.

Where did he get these songs? I downloaded Ur-Quan Masters many times, unpacked all of the content files I could find, found many songs along with audio of the conversations, but NOT THE THEMES! I somehow really liked this song and the hyperspace theme best, but only found the hyperspace theme. Where are these songs stored? How did he get them? Did he just record the gameplay?

I'd say in terms of sheer power and performance the only two ships that were better would be the Utwing Jugger and the Chmmr Avatar. Of course, you have the Thraddash Torch, Spathi Eluder, and Arilou Skiff that had some really nice uses. In many games, I don't look for resources. I just fly to Mycon space and farm their ships for RUs. Using the eluder, torch, or skiff and save scumming to ensure I never lose the ship. :) Then when I get the jugger I use that instead. And of course, the Pkunk Fury which is almost a must have at the last battle.

XD Anyway, the other yehat theme video has a link to a site where at last I downloaded them all! :) But, what puzzles me, is how these are in the game itself. As I said, I downloaded the excellent reproduction Ur-Quan Masters, and was able to use 7-zip to open the package files. Lotta audio, but most of it the speaking parts. A few themes. Are the rest MIDI? Confusing!
