i love how every song in this OST can tell the races story quite well, like how the soft humms of the mycon indicate their love of soft but hot glows, the spathis tones show how they are panicky and bouncy! whilst the orchestra of the Kzer-za show how they love their drama.

The Kzer-Za theme sounded very commanding, very imperious, like an emperor demanding that you submit to his authority, whereas the Kohr-Ah theme sounded cold and menacing, like a heartless predator that will kill you no matter what.

From the flighty and light hearted track of the Pkunk, the strident march sound of the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za, the somber and brooding tone of the Mycon... It's all perfect. My favorite has to be the Hyperspace theme. If there is better spaceflight music, I've yet to find it.

@@allenharper2928 I always felt that the music matched the relevant species very well. The interesting thing is that the metadata in the MOD files that were used for the original music indicate that some of them were originally intended (or at least proposed) for different uses! Perhaps the developers knew better than the composers did which track would fit best with which species. Thraddash was always one of my favourites, but I can't remember anything interesting from its MOD file.

Now this is a incredible song! I love it! I also admire the background, I was always amazed as a kid that you could see the Thraddash ships pointing at your massive starship in the background on the monitor. Their ships should’ve looked more like space-dragsters or motorbikes though, it would’ve complimented the nitro-esque afterburner nicely.

If by "terrible in general", you are referring to the handling of their ships by the AI, then yes. However, a reasonably skilled player will be able to take out a Chmmr, Kor-Ah, Kzer-Za, Spathi, Orz, Utwig, Yehat, Mycon, Supox, Mrnmhrm, Androsynth, and/or Ilwrath with a Thraddash ship.

Not exactly. They're intimidating and blustering, but their spaceships are pretty much tissue paper, so they're actually really weak in combat. You can ally with them by proving your own combat prowess against them.

The Torch is actually a giant killer, it’s incredibly strong against some of the toughest opponents like the Chmmr Avatar, the Utwig, and the mighty Kohr-ah Marauder. A skilled pilot can beat any of those ships, which are nearly impossible to best with most of the roster.

you can stop giving me advice on how to pilot their ship, guys, I meant fighting against them. PvE. Ofcourse you can make any ship in the game work with skill, even kill Samatrah with druudge ship :D But Ur-Quan ship being dangerous af for yourflagship, or Ilwrath using stealth and ambush tactics were much more consistent with their lore than whatever the AI tried to do with Thraddash fighters :)

I wish you didn't have to get these guys killed to complete the game. the only way i know of to get access to the Chmmr is to sic the Ilwrath on the Thraddash which destroys them. Call me crazy but I think the Thraddash would make good allies

Well, they believe that whoever wins a fight is superior to the loser, so maybe if you can take out enough of your ships, they'll be convinced of your superiority and join your side?

If you destroy a total of 25 of their ships they form an alliance with you and then you can take the aqua helix from them, but that will destroy the alliance Another way you can do it is to send their fleet to fight the Kohr-Ah and while the planet is left unguarded grab the helix, you can still make an alliance afterwards if you do this
