I’ve only listened to half of this but I am relieved to hear what Bilas is saying. He could say it more strongly but I think he is being careful. Between the lines, he is saying what needs to be said. I believe MSU and the NCAA must respond and correct or else they are failing in their responsibility. This is not about sensitivity. It’s about recognition - that an abusive approach causes harm and is unnecessary. It is obvious in our country's history that groups with power have tormented groups without power. And the abuse was/is not only permitted, not only defended, but lauded as "for public safety", "to uphold the natural order" or to "help players be the best players they can be" (as one of Henry's teammates said about Izzo - who screamed and balled his fist and lunged at a player 45 years younger whose basketball life and future are in Izzo's control). Only Winston could stand up to Izzo because only Winston has the ability to doom Izzo's reputation - and perhaps career - by walking off the court. Izzo’s hapless justifications after the fact suggest that he is not learning. But we are learning. And I am relieved to hear that more and more people have learned to recognize abuse as what it is.

You would think with all the controversy surrounding Michigan State, this guy would have a low profile. The fact that a player had to calm down the coach while these weak other coaches did nothing, is what people are overlooking as well. Look at how many Black players vs White coaches, people don't want to talk about Race because we have been programmed not to. Look at the few Black coaches and why they cannot get the Best black players, our people have been taught what to do since slavery, and dared us to think about anything else.
