I've just been advised by a behaviourist to try the learn to earn approach with my aggressive dog hope it works

Hi. I work for CattleDog Publishing (Dr. Yin's legacy company) and have used many of her techniques in my work rescuing livestock guardian dogs, some breeds of which (like the Caucasian Ovcharka) can be aggressive. There are several DVDs available on www.DrSophiaYin.com that can help you.

Dr Sophia I really like your work, but I do have a question, won't that create a shadow dog, who will learn to follow you around the house the whole time, or is that the purpose? Thank you!

Shadow dogs are that way because of genetic temperament. This kind of training will not create a shadow dog. It will create a dog that pays attention to its owner and has self-control.
