The problem being they'd start mimicking the timbre of the AI singer, instead of converting the soun into their own natural timbre. You hear Gura and Mumei, they'll typically take a song and sing it in their style/personal way, instead of trying to just switch to the "intended" way of the original vocalist. Each song would sound like a true "cover", if the singer tries to copy the original. You risk losing identity in the process.

Very well-made. Comparing your model and the one I created, I find it rather interesting that yours is the one that produces slightly cleaner audio, but mine is the one that sounds slightly more like her. This is in line with my observation that there's a direct correlation between accuracy and the amount of input data, but not between clarity and the amount of input data (since your model only used 8 minutes of audio while mine used about an hour). Also, what's even more interesting is that, if I understand you correctly, you seem to have come to the same conclusion I have, namely that you can get a perfectly fine model from using audio of the person talking as training data and that clean talking > noisy singing, no? If I might ask, for how many epochs have you trained this? Also, did you use harvest or crepe for pitch extraction?

I think the reason the voice is clear here is because the source material was pretty much perfect for voice conversion. It was a very clear female voice with no added effects of any kind, accompanied by simple guitar music that was very easy to separate from the vocals. If I try doing this for a more complicated song it invariably starts glitching out and sounding like a robot, even after the vocals are heavily processed to have as few effects as possible. I used a friend's CUDA cluster for training the model, I trained it for 300 epochs using whichever algorithm was supposedly more "high quality", but I don't remember which one exactly.
