A shootout at Yellowstone National Park has left one person dead and a park ranger hospitalized.
Investigators on Thursday said the ranger exchanged gunfire with someone who was making unspecified threats in the area. The situation stemmed from an overnight incident.

@@TheDkb427 i am not sure what they are doing now but i remember when i was there they had a put Oregon back to work program that gave criminals the opportunity to gain skills for the work force and that included clearing dead trees and brush along the roads. I use to ask permission to take some of it for my wood stove in the winter. They have other programs too for locals.

Sometimes when people are on vacation, they do weird questionable things. I live in Las Vegas and we don't roam around outside between the hours of 1pm-5pm unless it's absolutely necessary. I tell my guest to stay inside during those hours. You will enjoy your vacation alot more that way by finding an indoor event during that time.

These forest fire could've been prevented had counter measure been implemented in advance of the hot weather. Dried leaves, tree, green without soaking water are more than likely to ignite and cause a major fire.

Pre planned burns are the answer to fire suppression, which hasn't worked. Pre planned controlled burns do get out of control and burn people's houses down. So it's not a great career extender for those in the fires service who suggest using the method.

how did the fires start? Oregon's New B.E.E, Bureau of Enhanced Extradition will help when the wanted criminals are returned to their States for the warrants and Oregon recoups the funds through wage/State accesses.
