There is a subtle paradox in Greg's videos that is inexplicable. The piloting and presentation is very high quality and well worth watching. The cameras are excellent and views are stunning. But, for some reason there is no cheer in the family or cockpit... none of the thrill, excitement, wonder and awe - things you would expect from such an amazing flight in a beautiful jet across such a wonderful country. Maybe the best of times eventually become routine. I just don't know. 🙄

What a absolutely beautiful flight. Man you really get a sense of exactly just how fast you are going when you are close to the clouds. I’m thankful the tweeties got out of your way. We have a lot of turkey buzzards around me in NC and those things are not too bright. Doesn’t look like they are at all interested in any course deviations no matter how close that chunk of fast metal gets to them. Thank you for describing your ice detection, I was thinking that man I should ask about that and bam, here’s how it works! As always your videos are certainly a highlight in my day! Thank you for letting us ride along and experience the heavenly beauty with you!

Greg, that was a really nice flight. The Bozeman tower controller seemed a little irritated with the situation, but kept his cool and got you out of there eventually. The cloud sequence coming into Indie was beautiful. I have always thought that the Beck's hanger at Exec is one of the most amazing I have ever seen - have you seen others with glass doors like Beck's? They must have a very lucrative business.

I was just researching your 390 Premier 1A and found that it was actually manufactured by the Raytheon Aircraft Company, which was shortly afterwards sold to the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. Move forward a few years with a number of companies involved going bankrupt, it appears that what was left was rolled into the Textron Group, with the Beechcraft brand name surviving. Interesting history :-)

@@jjjjjj4361 You are spot on. I would request a VFR climb, which can be part of an IFR clearance. Most pilots, including me, never learned that option in training. I learned it as a passenger leaving Jackson, WY, where the airline pilots waited 30 minutes for takeoff for a small Cessna to clear the valley. I researched how they could have legally and safely departed sooner. That’s when I learned about VFR climbs. If you’d care to learn about this safe, efficient departure procedure, especially useful in mountainous terrain, look it up. FAA Order JO 7110.65Y - Air Traffic Control covers this for controllers and AIM chapter 4 covers it for pilots. If safety is of utmost importance, don’t fly out of airports with mountains, clouds and airplanes nearby. Stay in the pilot lounge and leave it to the more experienced pilots. Like some dude with 15K+ hrs, over 75 flights to TGU (Google it), ATP, Airbus A350 Captain, zero time in a tower. I have a close relationship with someone like that!
