Yellowstone Wolf Coat DLC!

The new Yellowstone Wolf Pack DLC is now available for purchase! We've released patch v1.0.6n, which has a number of improvements and bugfixes, including this DLC which features 15 beautiful new coats modeled after actual Yellowstone wolves!

NEW:
* Yellowstone Wolf Pack DLC now available! Go to My Wolves, then Coat Customization and scroll down to preview the new coats (Founders, Hall of Fame, and Cool Coats) on your wolf. Click the Buy button to go to Steam or itch.io to purchase the coats. They will immediately be available for your wolves.They will also be eligible to appear on dispersal wolves and grown pups in any new game that you start after purchasing this DLC. (Note that if you have the game from Steam, your purchase is tied to your Steam account. If you have the game from itch.io, you must have a WolfQuest game account, as that is where your purchase is recorded.)
IMPROVEMENTS:
* When in Endless Summer quest, you can now regenerate your family snapshot in the Pack Info panel. This will replace the snapshot that was taken previously when completing the Loaf at Rendezvous Site quest. (Useful if you change a mate or pup name, or if a pup dies and you want to be honest about it.)
* On Apple Silicon computers, wolf feet now touch ground, and alert appears in main menu about bugs.
BUGS FIXED:
* Female wolf does not appear pregnant in Slough Creek until you save and reload the save.
* If your wolf is female and save your game in Slough Creek before having pups, then start a new game in Amethyst, your wolf will be pregnant there.
* Moose calf in August grew up too fast.
* In Slough Creek, on Basic Sky & Veg mode, audio controls do not affect rain and snow sounds.
* Tall grass patches disappear in August.
* Snow does not accumulate on distant landscape in spring and summer in Slough Creek.
* Player gets stuck if notification appears while dreaming.
* In Wolf Customization, can't click drag to rotate wolf.
* New Mate quest (sometimes) appears after game over when a pregnant mate dies.
* Scent tracks sometimes stop abruptly.
* Scent tracks get suddenly older.
* All stranger wolves are interested in courtship. (Bug introduced in February -- Valentine's Day Special! -- and fixed now in new games but will persist in saved games from the past several weeks.)
* All dispersals and stranger wolves have the same level of interest at the start of courtship (should be vary some).
* World Map does not remember state of Show Dens button during Raise Pups quest.
* Regurgitated meat does not glow in scent view.
* Errors loading a save with carcass scent tracks spawned.
* Water and terrain issues.

I'm excited for the addition of coats, but also excited to see WQ putting out small DLCs to further funding for the game. People need to realize this is how small games continue production. Without money WQ wouldn't exist. I'm more than happy to get the DLC!

I lost my mind when i saw they had the 21M coat, Absolutely love 21 and 42 Cinderella! These 2 legendary Druid wolves who created a record breaking pack that held 37 members strong. Could never get enough of the stories from wolfwatchers about 21M's feats and accomplisments, can't wait to play as him.

I love #2M, the mate of 7F. He was as important as her and was the founder of The Leopold Pack in 1996. They led together until May 2002 when 7F died. 7F is the daughter of 9F, maybe that is what puts her above 2M. In my POV they are equals. Without them, the history of yellowstone wolves wouldn't have many iconic wolves. 302M, 480M are the sons of 2M & 7F while the White Lady or The White Wolf of the Canyon Pack is their great grand-daughter

I smiled when I recognized the names of all the famous wolves of Yellowstone and I even went to your forums to read about them. The instant I saw 06, I immediately remembered the one and only majestic SheWolf. The first time I saw her was 2011 in a Nat Geo TV documentary and I knew then that she was special. This was the very first documentary I saw for any wolf, so this already was going to be meaningful to me. As extraordinary as she was, her death is what always makes me tear up. I think every year for 3 years they would broadcast this doc and I would always watch it. They don't do it anymore but every now and then I watch it on youtube. I tell myself we’re never gonna find a wolf like that around Yellowstone. Not for a long time. It really makes me feel so heartfelt to see all these wolves being added to WolfQuest. It really truly shows your knowledge and history of Yellowstone’s wolves and how passionate you are to leave some piece of legacy of them for us. I and everyone who plays this game fully appreciate all these wonderful details you make for us. 💕💕

I'm totally going to buy this! I am LIVING for the 21M coat. 21M is my all time favorite Yellowstone wolf and his story about how passionate and caring he was is incredibly inspirational. I also adore Spitfire and Casanova (probably bc of how much he is tangled into 21M's story!). I remember when I heard that Spitfire was killed in 2018. I was heartbroken. I'm so glad that her and White Lady's spirits get to live on in this game! It's really not fair what happened to them :(

OMG! Yesss! I have waited for this moment ever since you said 15 new coats were coming out for dlc. I bought them as soon as I was done watching the vid lol. They look so amazing! My favorite coat is probably the Cinderella coat because it has like almost blueish fur and also the white lady coat as well. They look amazing great job! (P.S. well done to whoever won the contest and also I really like the cool coat: the like almost pure white one I forget the name but that coat is probably the best thing we will get to a full white wolf and I love it)

If we come across a dispersal with one of the gray-looking black coats, how will we be able to tell that that’s technically a black wolf and not a gray? Will we just have to memorize which coats look gray but are actually black?

You’ll probably be able to tell at least a little bit with the diversity stars, if you’re playing as a black wolf and you meet one of the new coats and the diversity is low, they probably technically have a black coat, even if it looks gray.

i may have a few i ideas for tower fall and what comes after idea#1: at the end of tower fall you will get a menu of your surviving pups and you get to choose which stay with your pack to help raise the next litter, when you play tower fall for a second time with your pack, a the end of that tower fall you get the same menu with all of your pack member excluding your mate and yourself and once again get to choose which stay or leave idea#2: i know having multiple wolves in the pack around you in a game like this is hard on the games system, so i have an idea for this as well, when your pack gets to big, more than 8 for example, you will get a message that says something along the lines of "when your pack reaches a curtain size, there is not enough space or resources for all of them, it is time for the yearlings(the pups from your previous litter) to leave and become dispersal's" idea#3: this idea is for a random event, maybe one of your pups from a previous litter can show up back to the pack, wanting to re join, and maybe you can have the option of either letting re join or rejecting them and chasing them away. idea# 4: final idea. when you have had a curtain number of litters, 4-5 for example you could get a message that says something along the lines of" your wolf is aging, no longer as young as it used to be, it is time for the next generation to take over" after this you have 2 things that can happen, one, your mate is the same one you had when you started so all the pups are related to him/her, so you get to choose which one of your pups to play as a dispersal, option 2 your mate is your second or maybe even third, so not all the pups are related to him/her so you can have the option of just picking an heir like before or having one of your pups pair up with you r mate and them continuing on as alpha male and female, you may even be able to choose who stays with the new pack and who leaves to start there own families. i hope you enjoyed my ideas, do know that these ideas are based on wild wolf behavior. thanks for all you guys and gals do

Yo everyone, you need to buy the coats for what? Because like us who need money to survive so do the wolfquest team, especially in this pandemic where so many people are losing their jobs and have to rely on small business to keep going, Idk how large/small is their group but they need money to pay everyone fair and square because no one will be willing to work for free! Keep this in mind before judging their decision please, this game is amazing and if you don't want to buy the DLC, don't harass them, there's plenty of coats available already, so use them! I know I recently commented but I just wanted to say a few things if you don’t mind- First of all, I almost immediately bought the coats after I saw this video. They’re gorgeous, I love going into multiplayer and seeing everyone’s different unique coats. If I can, I’ll absolutely buy every DLC from u guys. With that being said, I’d like to make a few suggestions if u don’t mind. I was recently thinking how awesome it’d be if melanistic, albino, or piebald skins could be included, BUT the catch is you can’t select them when ur customizing ur wolf. For example like ur recent video on skins u can only get through puppies but to get melanistic, albino, and piebald skins it is MUCH rarer. Also it’d be cool if we could see some ungulates or competitors (wolves or bears etc) with these skins, but not like we see everyday skins, the chances would be extremely rare, like real life-ish. Thanks if you consider this, sorry it was so long.

Thanks for your ideas and your support of the game! We are continually surprised at the variety of coats that wolves can have compared to any other wild animal we can think of. It is one of the things that makes WQ wolves easy to individualize in the game. That said, we try to keep them realistic and based on actual wolves in Yellowstone. Since there have been no reports of wolves with albinism, that isn't included. But the new lighter coats in the DLC should make it easy to roleplay as you like. It would be cool to be able to add more coat variety for the bears, for example. Maybe someday?

15 coats for just $6? Heck, I had expected it to be a few coats for maybe $10 or more, but wow that's crazy cheap for such a game. If that's how much these sorts of things are going to cost, I'm hoping they're getting enough funds for the future things. Aren't they getting a big horn sheep and beaver in too? I love this game and the folks who put so much of their time into it, so anything to show my support ❤ I've been following this game for what, 8 years? It's just getting greater and greater.
