+JoshZGamer - Road to 1k I know some spots just ask :) whats your PB Snapper? And your biggest fish?

+Ocean Riley Films Oh Awesome :) Well unfortunately where i fish its all hammered and to get a good sized snapper would be quite challenging. Recently went out with my dad and caught a 5pound snapper :) Was probably the only time you could ever get the size from where i am :) Im in Auckland, Northshore but for school holidays am able to maybe go up north for a day or 2 :)

+Ocean Riley Films Hey also a young fisher, if you guys are looking for some spots, try out Bayswater Marina on Sir Peter Blake Drive. Walk out to the end and there's some boxes, I think made for fishos. Once there load up with salmon burley. Try get a livey and chuck it in. Use squid and pilchards, with 3/0 hooks. I got most success on that spot using this rig: Sinker on the mainline above the swivel, 60 lb trace with two 3/0 hooks, snooded and uni knot. Use lighter trace if the bite is weak. I wouldn't, as last time I went I lost a battle with a huge fish, fighting like a kingi. Got decent snapper and kahawai in the summer months. It can get windy so layer up.

I can't seem to catch anything lately, I know there are fish out. I am Kandahar rock and pier fishing yet I can't seem to find the right techniques to get hook up to the fish I would like. Southern California any suggestions?

in SoCal surf fishing is rarely good, but if you go out a mile or so in a kayak or small boat you can get yellowtail and other nice fish like these.

Rock fishing is meant to be for us poor people who can't afford a boat. It's insulting that you take the boat out and then climb on to the rocks. Just fish from the boat!

nah I know guys who have some of the best boats to go fishing on yet they prefer land based. no skill or fun on a boat.
