Hello Patrick, thanks for the review! I see a colour difference between the two dials, also the earlier quartz models where 300 m wr. I believe it is not true this quartz is 200 wr. I believe it is to make people gravitate to the automatic more. Also a sapphire crystal would be nice for the quartz. Please do note the quartz is a cheap workhorse movement, nothing wrong but not an ETA quartz but a less than 10 dollars costing Ronda. I would have preferred something more high end but if a good example from will come my way , because Yema has a lot of QC issues I will buy one.

WoW great non-snob comparison. I own that Yema quartz. Why, I like the reliable version. The sapphire dome should be indeed placed on both watches. Overal this my daily -head -over -heels -in -love watch. It has so much personality.
@carlito17773 жыл бұрын
I am going for the quartz one because of accuracy and solidity of the movement when using it hard. That’s very bad they don’t use sapphire crystal on the quartz modèle with 300m wr.

@@carlito1777 Do you know if the bracelet is the same in both versions?
@carlito17773 жыл бұрын
@@warwolfone771 yes it is, maybe the automatic has polish the side of the bracelet I am not sure cause the side of case is polished on automatic and brushed on quartz, the center links are polished on both versions and the other links are brushed on both versions. It is 15% off plus a tropic bracelet right now on this modele.

I certainly sold on this brand... Great value propositions and something different being it French as opposed to the ubiquitous Swiss. I'm holding it for the Superman Fan colab, those include their in-house movement.

Great review. The quartz second-hand misses the markers and that irks me, especially at the price point. Thumbs up!
@TheFlyrodder684 жыл бұрын
@RandomUser221 Yes, I agree. If I'm to go quartz, Casio and Citizen still top the brand then Seiko. Casio seems to hit the markers consistently spot-on the most. Citizen isn't that bad either and with the Eco-Drive, it is excellent. Seiko is very good too.
@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett4 жыл бұрын
High end Seiko’s have some auto-correction features that keep them aligned. The rest of the world is just relying on proper alignment (which is seldom seen). Personally, I’ve gotten accustom to this, but I agree: Citizen/Seiko really do Quartz well (only makes sense).
@JayB-lz6yd4 жыл бұрын
if you look carefully, the hand hits them on about 1/3 of a lap. miss all the others. so that means it's not a hand alinement issue. it's a dial symetry issue. if the dial was symetric, the hand would miss them all or hit them all. but like i said in my comment, mine has nothing except the date in the window is slightly on the left. not centered. the Ronda 515 feels a bit cheap for this watch. i woulda love to see an ETA 955.112 or f06.111 or Ronda 6003D.
@TheMasonator7774 жыл бұрын
Take Time, w/Patrick Marlett All of the Citizen Eco-drive Promasters, Chronograph Quartzes, and PCATs I’ve owned hit the markers exactly. My Casio Duro did to till I sold it. Citizen and Casio nail it.

Excellent review. I love the look and size of these tho the brushing looks a little coarse. I'd prefer a little finer. I've been looking at Yema's divers for a while. Great to see these in the round and reviewed. I can't think of a quartz diver I like aesthetically more. I love the vintage design, hands and raised indices. For the $490 I'd need a sapphire and a sale.
@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s definitely competitively priced... With so many options, you’d want the sapphire/screw in links, all those modern touches. Me personally? If it came with acrylic and a friction bezel, I’d pick it up for $600, haha. However, as it stands, not a bad deal.
@JayB-lz6yd4 жыл бұрын
hey! if you don't like the bezel locker, just take it off and put a washer instead. or recut the stem. personally i'm not bothered with it but, at least it's easy to solve the problem. concerning hands not hitting markers on the Quartz, nothing on mine. hits them right. i've changed the crystal for a domed sapphire. i really like it! and people are always saying the blue of the dial is gorgeous. the "neo-retro" style is well done to me.

U make a compelling argument for the quartz version. I would have liked the automatic version, but, I think I prefer the all brushed finish of the quartz. That's how my Yema Superman Heritage GMT is like. It has more of a tool vibe when all brushed But, it is really odd they didnt also lume the automatic's sapphire bezel at all. Another point against the auto and one for the quartz. Admittedly, I didnt think much of the Yema Superman Heritage line when they were brought to my attention quite a while ago. But, the more I looked into it, the more I got interested. So, I ended up buying one and the piece looks really good in person. I just love the way the case and bezel are designed. The way the case is divided really breaks up the thickness (which isn't all that thick to begin with) and makes it look thinner. Yeah, it does bug me a little they didnt just make the bezel bidirectional. It really makes the crown lock gizmo redundant and near useless.. sure, it does keep the bezel from moving at all. But, it is not a deal breaker. I still appreciate it being there as it is a feature of the Superman and adds some visual interest and detail. I find people ask what it is a lot. 39mm is also quite ideal size as well. And, I suppose like you, I prefer an aluminum bezel insert.. especially in my GMT model, which has the Pepsi colors. I've never found any Ceramic Pepsi to have the completely correct color of red AND blue. Aluminum has the right sheen and color. And, I like the fact aluminum may not stay perfect and should fade and exhibit wear and/or fade over time. I really like this blue dial version, although I'm not sure I can justify getting 2 of essentially the same watch model. However, for less than half the price of the auto, I can't deny the quartz version is super tempting. Btw, because the bracelet end is wider than the actual lug space to be more flush with the case form at the lugs, the taper to the bracelet is made that much more nicer and dramatic.
@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that taper from case to bracelet/clasp is nice and sharp. The overall design is stellar. Before these were announced, I had been hunting down the same blue dial but from a vintage offering... Still am. Wound up buying my ‘60s Glycine Airman, rest is history (haven’t been looking). However, after reviewing these, I started the hunt back up again. I’m a fan of the case design, how the crown leaves room for the bracket before completely unscrewing. Everything about the construction is just so “tidy.” I could see myself enjoying one of these... Particularly at 39mm/19mm strap. I actually have the perfect strap for one too... We’ll see what happens. Maybe I just pick up a modern one. Those Bronze models look sharp as well.
@khronokraze4 жыл бұрын
@@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett I do like the bronze versions also. But, i really like the one that has the all bronze bezel versus the ones that have the color insert. It looks particularly raw and rustic once patina sets in. However, like many bronze watches that have a matching bronze rotating bezel, I hear those are prone to having bezel lock up after a while. Might be remedied by daily turning to be sure the patina doesn't build up too much between case and bezel.
@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett4 жыл бұрын
We're locking the bezel for it! I hear you though, haha. I've always been concerned about that... However, in my past experience, I've never witness any real issues... I think if that problem occurs, you just remove the patina and start over. Kinda the allure really. I will state, the burgundy red bezel insert? That's my favorite... Just looks so good. Ugh, too many watches, never enough money, haha.

Nice comparo. Is the quartz version noticeably thinner in hand / on the wrist? It's supposed to be 11mm vs 13 for the auto.
@TakeTimewPatrickMarlett4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you definitely notice it. However, the "thickness" of the mechanical is distributed well, so it wears thinner than it is. Still, physically, the Quartz has it beat.
