This proves your very ignorance and I think lies. First of all, there is no one definition for sufism. Next, sufism is a pre-Islamic practice, and it is not adopted only by Muslims. Finally, a Muslim is to care about understanding the main basics of Islam as perceived by the first three generations complimented by Rasool Allah, صلى الله عليه وسلم.

***** it's true that there's no agreement upon what the word Sufism means but to pretend they Sufism is some pre Islamic practice and the Sufis are ignorant of Islam is just blatant stupidity. Sufism has been mixed with Islam since the first three generations but I'm curious can you narrate a hadith without a Sufi in its chain? Can you name successive scholars from the begining till this day without a break without meantioning Sufis? And what basics of Islam have we deviated from? So YOU are to bring an evidence that the first three قرون مفضلة have sufis, and if those sufis would do what my some of my people in Hadhramout do. Yes, I have a real name, look it up; I do not need to fake it. I could be saying 'stupidity' - I'll take that for the sake of argument - but I am not a liar neither I am lied to. If you have no idea about the roots of Sufism, it is your problem. You are to ask, not to argue. Yes, it is a pure pre-Islamic practice, anyway. And so what there are some sufis in the رواة الحديث? People came to Tarim to study mainly the shariah. The mazhab of Imam Ash-Shafiei. The aqidah of Ash'ari. Besides that, the Tariqa of Ba Alawi.
