Yendizzle, this was absolutely one of your best interviews to date. Shelly was comfortable in your space, and she made you very comfortable in your space. A very embracing and emotional piece about shelly’s humble beginnings to womanhood. And i can tell that you and her have similar personalities when it comes to just being strong women. Continue the great work; and i would love it if you can get an interview with either Shenseea or Koffee....talk to you later....one love...

I realized that I am watching this video in Aug 2020, from Canada. I was so inspired by what Shelly-Ann had to say. I am presently writing my book on my life journey due to my near-death in the Toronto SARS outbreak as a critical care nurse. I went blind for over ten years and was in a coma for a month. However, with all that I went through, I regained my vision in 2013 and went back to university with a service dog leading the way to get a master degree with honors. This is the kind of resilience that Shelly-Ann has talked about and try to tell others. It is also the very things that I talked about in my chapters....'My Journey into the realm of consciousness: we don't die' The experiences that we go through built resilience and give us the spiritual toughness to meet the next challenge in our lives. It also raises our life force energy to be better for the next life challenge. Shelly-Ann can't want to watch you in 2021. Love, light and kindness from Canada's far north.

I love this interview-reminded me of Phil 4 vs 13 “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I can relate-I went to St Hugh’s , I sold Gizzada & Drops at school to get lunch money; made suck suck in the evening to have bus fare! Had a strong mom holding down the household-when my dad was not working during my years in high school-sewing, baking, going to market at 4am to buy produce for our shop. This is truly our Jamaican story of strength and will power to achieve in life- #skyisthelimit! & Shelly, my family is always cheering you on-keep achieving & accomplishing great things!

Watching this for the first time after the 200m Final at Tokyo 2021, all I can say is wow. I don't know about the others but what I saw was a woman who gave everything she had, to the very end. Now I have a much better understanding of why. This interview has also touched my life having just recently had a 2nd heart attack, I too have that resilience and tenacity that many call mad... but see when a purpose has taken hold of you, nothing absolutely nothing stops you. Thank you, amidst all the tears I've cried also during this video I am walking away with solid inspiration and I intend to also share it with others... Well done... God bless you all... more abundantly...

The young lady gave a powerful interview. Growing up economically challenged in a one room house, and with very little to eat, many of us in that situation felt inferior, and we probably had a low self-esteem. Especially, as the young lady said in the interview, having to be around youths who lived in large houses, and wore nicer clothes. And at school, those youths would be able to buy more and better snacks, and buy better lunches. For example, some of us poor students would buy bread and avacado, or bread and red butter, while the better-off students would buy bread and cheese, or bread, ham and cheese, or bread and sausage. But those challenging times made some of us more ambitious. The hard life made some of us battlefield tough that lead us to overcome obstacles and become successful, we took roadblocks, and made them building blocks. I have a friend who grow up priviledged; lived in a large house, had plenty to eat, drink and wear, but now that we are grown, and all of the older people in his family who kept him on that level have died, the house has deteriorated, and it is some of us poor kids, who are now adults and financially stable, that are helping him with food and other supplies. So young lady, stay strong, and keep climping. Maximum Blessings.

Yendi I discovered your channel by accident while paging through various stories about Jamaica. I am a Jamaican living in the United States. I am so proud of Jamaica’s performance in track and field just like I was in previous Olympics. But I had no idea that Shellyanne was so personable, and so funny, and down to earth. These types of interviews are great for the athletes and for the personalities being interviewed. Because it allows the general public to see their true personality. And it also humanizes them for those who might think that they’re standoffish or unapproachable. Job well done for both of you. Thank you.

This is one of my favourite interviews because Shelly is so open in it and it's almost like I am seeing her for the first time. There are so many layers to her. Yendi, you did great in making her feel so comfortable and giving her this space to open up. I just feel like hugging her when she said her precious baby broke the shell around her. I also loved the 'natural' makeup on you both. Gorgeous 🤗❤❤

The struggles are real. My mother use to plant okra/plantain. For a time all we, ate were okra boiled in salt water. I hated it. Even one day I didn't get any lunch money and my mother rode to the school on a bicycle with a container full of June plums for my lunch. She always says it's what I learn and not the money I got. I pray I become successful in time to bless her.

There's too much for the ordinary Jamaican woman to take from this interview.... Hard work = success With GOD all is possible Forgive a nation and make them proud Celebrate success but don't linger in the aura of victory too much Your partner must share in your goals, be a part of it When *they* say you're too young to do it, prove *them* wrong When *they* say you can't do it as a mother, prove *them* wrong When *they* say you're too old to do it, again, prove *them* wrong....when you know have it, how much you want it....whatever *they* say, whatever the situation, prove them wrong. Make clear your priorities and honour them accordingly...if it is wife-hood above career, motherhood above everything, then so be it. Finally, the best drug is laughter.
