Thank you for your reaction 💙 You’re right, the title ‘GGUM’ does carry multiple layers of meaning. The obvious one is bubble gum, which Yeonjun uses to symbolize how he sticks to his goals-no matter how much people hate or try to “chew him up,” both he and his music will stick with them, just like gum. Also, when you romanize the Korean word for gum, it’s spelled with two ‘g’s’ to make a harder sound compared to the softer ‘g’ in Korean. But because the title is in English, there’s a clever play on words that allows it to reference the Korean word ‘꿈’ (kkum), which means ‘dreams,’ reflecting how Yeonjun has achieved his dreams. I’d love to see you react to TXT’s latest comeback, especially since they have another one on November 4th! The title track of their most recent album is Deja Vu, which is tied as my personal favorite title track from them. The b-side they mainly promoted from that comeback is I’ll See You There Tomorrow, and it’s a totally different vibe from Deja Vu (but still a bop!) and it has really cool choreography. Also, if you haven’t yet checked out their Sugar Rush Ride comeback, that’s definitely worth watching too.
