Today's video is a theory breaking down possible connections between Red Velvet and exo's universes. This isn't meant to be taken too seriously but I thought that there were some interesting connections between their music videos. If any of you guys are curious as to how Irene and Seulgi's Monster connects to this theory, here are my thoughts: I feel like this music video can kind of represent Irene's attempt to try to control Seulgi and get her to help in destroying EXO. A lot of Red Velvet's music videos show Irene as the sort of mastermind in the group, and to me this continues that theme. I feel like Irene looked more in control throughout the video; we only see her emotions flickering in the shots, she's the one with the demon face, she watches over Seulgi as she sleeps, etc. Irene being surrounded by the dolls kind of makes me think that she sees the other members of Red Velvet as her puppets, and thus will attempt to try to convince all of them to trust the monster that she is. Even though Seulgi has a gun, she never really fires it, whereas we see Irene cutting skulls and I think even stabbing the scissors into something. By convincing the other members to trust her, she's able to control them and create a force worthy of opposing EXO. Let me know if you guys think Monster is connected too!

Another thing that I've read somewhere that somehow supports this theory is the name of the RF-05. RF as in Red flavor, and 05 as in the 5 members of Red Velvet. Only slightly over a week after Red flavor came out, Kokobop came out. So the 2 groups were quite literally "fighting" on the charts. In Power, which was the repackage of Kokobop, the members are fighting the RF-05 robot. I don't fully know how this is connected, but I think there could be some meaning to it.

I feel like Lotto also ties into this somehow. It starts out as a woman in a white dress (based on factors such as facial structure, I believe she is meant to be Irene, however, she could also be Joy for the same reasons. For the purpose of this theory, I will focus on the woman being Irene, because I feel that they look more similar.) like how they wore white at some point in Psycho. She is running away, but doesn't actually seem to want to leave, or be in a hurry. It's more as if she's dilly-dallying,.or trying to get them to capture her. In some of the party scenes, you see other women in white dresses wearing feathery masks (resembles Irene's feathery headpiece in Psycho). I believe they are either meant to be Red Velvet's clones, or Red Velvet themselves. They may be there to warn them to give Irene back, or suffer consequences. But they don't. There is a clip in the MV that shows that Irene is tied up at a high point, with a long dress cascading to the floor. It shows how they view her as a prize because they were able to capture her. They thought that they were in control. Later, the members of EXO cut her down, and drag her out of the building. It seems they finally listened to the threats and warnings that Red Velvet (or the clones) gave them, but it was too late. As soon as they walk out of the door, there are already helicopters and police around them. Some officers arrest them, and one takes Irene away somewhere. Just before that, though, there is a clip of her touching one of the members handcuffs. Maybe she is putting some sort of spell on them, or simply reminding them that Red Velvet are the ones in control, and that EXO are their puppets/toys/dolls. Edit: The woman that EXO captured may also very well be Joy. In her solo Psycho teaser, she is seen running away in the same manner as the woman in the Lotto MV, in the dark, and in a long white dress.

adding to what you've said ;; i think red velvet's main target is baekhyun. umpah umpah is the breathing method for when you're in water but the song ends with umpah pah. at the end of power he falls into water and just floats. i think he begins to drown as red velvet are wearinghim down. red velvet are obsessed with trying to get rid of exo and become psycho so they send rev to get the job done. the album cover of psycho depicts rev walking happily to the house they're in. the house shows only four girls on the front and not five. i assume yeri isn't there as thoughout psycho she is seen as getting 'defensive' maybe she has seen something about the red force and keeps it to herself or exo have found her. in psycho joy is seen closing herself in with a happy yeri maybe to protect her from the whole plan. later on seulgi is seen in that same room with joy whispering to her - she could be telling seulgi not to worry about the plan. joy and wendy must know what is happening with seulgi, yeri and rev as joy pulls wendy up the stairs in a panic almost. both of them remain calm in the train and don't seem to be bothered. wendy may have seen seulgi's strange behaviour and informs joy and joy in return tells her about yeri. in the mv wendy is seen watching seulgi to make sure she doesn't do anything irrational. when joy and irene say psycho they may be referring to seulgi and yeri. they keep seulgi out because she wants it all to go perfectly therefore becomes obsessed then psycho and tries to interfere with others when planning but she gets pushed away hence the tear stains. the mirror scene shows her staying where she has been told to but then running to hear what rev has to say when it comes back. yeri is kept away because of her strange behavioir as you can see her on a trampoline, getting defensive after the first chorus and hearing things [in most mv's]. she then disappears when rev comes back to inform the girls of its progress [album cover]. yeri either has been caught by the boys or has ran away because of the things she's seen and heard.

Excellent theory, great job! RV's lore has never really been much explored, there's something hidden about it. I think it makes sense to connect it with EXO lore which is more developed. This makes sense if for no other reason that they are sibling groups, but also because there's obviously similar themes and motifs in their lore. Something interesting is that EXO's concept is the story of their struggle against the Red Force and the splitting into parallel words... however if you think about it RV also has a split of worlds in their lore! Remember that RV has both the Red and the Velvet side. I think the combined lore is even more complicated (and twisted!) than we already see!
