No because let’s really talk about IT! Pink Tape alone has shaped the sound of K-pop forever since its release. From 3rd gen to now, the influence of Pink Tape is so strong that its sound has become a standard for a lot of groups. Red Light is definitely underrated as well just because of the amount of things that happened during the promotion period like I can’t think of another girl group who has done a dark concept like that. Releasing 3 classic albums from back to back is insane. At this point, I feel like aespa is the reincarnation of f(x). Literally one of my favorite groups, they were experimental (which isn’t always my favorite kind of theme with groups, I prefer the one consistent theme and sound kind of thing) however I thought f(c) did everything so well from their vocals to choreography and more, they also introduced us to such beautiful and talented individuals but my god they were underrated, they didn’t even get a concert for such a long time and of the many things that bothered me about how they were promoted and treated as a group there was like a total of 2 dance practice videos and their choreographies were popular as hell. Their company didn’t give a fuuuuuh! I haven’t finished the video btw lol

Just a note on the lightstick issue, it was not common for 2nd gen groups to have an official lightstick. Most groups had an official colour and at shows balloons with corresponding color lightstick would be used. Big Bang made having an official lightstick popular and it only much later become a "must" for a group to have one. Therefore companies started giving official lightsticks to older groups based on popularity (and how much the company wanted to keep fans happy).

I started crying at various points during this video. Sometimes for grief and others for pride in the work our girls put into everything they did and continue to do. I've been into Kpop since the end of 2008 so I connected to and bonded to groups like 2NE1 and f(x). Its been bitter sweet to go back and watch MVs and variety shows and concerts because OMG the nostalgia and memories! But so sad that those versions of who we knew are gone forever. I remember saving up from three paychecks to order the Dimension 4 BluRay from YesAsia and I fell even deeper in love with them because that concert is LIT! Still though, I wish Sulli could have been involved. I honestly think f(x) should be required learning for all K-pop fans! :D

F(x) is forever a legend in K-POP history. I found them late, just after Electric Shock released. They showcase a great example of a multinational group. Sadly, they’re also an example of how bad SM Entertainment treated them in the past. I don’t think they were under the shadow of SNSD because the fact that they have their own taste. Idk why SM just abandoned them. Like, they still gained a huge success with just being an accidental experiment of the agency. So, I believe SM should have invested more effort to them. Perhaps the agency had too many successful talents at that time (Super Junior, SNSD, Shinee, TVXQ, BoA). And Sulli’s death just broke my heart. She was the first talent found for f(x), yet she did not gain enough appreciation for herself. I pray the best for all of them: successful career for Victoria, Luna, Krystal, and Amber, also a peaceful place for Sulli. Thank you f(x) for coloring K-POP industry. You’ll always be loved forever.

f(x) was my first kpop group i followed from their debut, and at the time i didn't have the money to buy their albums but once I was able to, I bought red light. i was hoping they would do a world tour but it was a shame. what SM did and didn't do for this group will forever be frustrating and baffling they were the perfect group with music that influenced the music today

The fandom name was something I still bear grudges with SM even till now. Very obvious sign of mistreatment. Everyone was pining it for years and nothing happened. If I remember correctly, there were discussions that the fandom name was Diamonds initially, I am glad it turned out to be MeU. It still saddens me to go through Sulli's section, I miss her so much. Finally, thank you for this amazing video, as a f(x) fan, I am very happy to see this!

My introduction to kpop was when f(x) came out with Danger and it was trending on KZbin. From there I got into SHINee, SNSD, and Super Junior (and most other 2nd generation groups). For me, being into kpop was mostly a phase for a few years but since then I’ve always kept up to date with f(x) and SHINee once in a while because they just meant so much to me. I can’t believe a member of each one of my favorite groups has passed away. Jonghyuns passing was the first celebrity death that really affected me. I still tear up over it sometimes. And when Sulli passed it hurt all over again. It makes me so sad to think about how much they were hurting. If only there was no stigma against getting mental help, they may still be here. I love them so much and I hope they now know just how much they were loved.

It hurt when you mention GWSN, because they currently on the same state as f(x), but even worse because after Red Sun, they always change company (or only the company name) when they about to comeback and also almost a year without a comeback plus more less content, unlike their THE PARK IN THE NIGHT era. :" I don't know if you're taking request or not, but I think you should make a video discussing GWSN. Addition: thank you for the great video!

After watching this, I consider myself lucky to have been an f(x) fan while they were actively promoting. I've kept onto the albums for sentimental value, and hearing that they are hard to find now probably means a lot of f(x) fans are doing the same. I also got to see them perform red light in London for free!! which was a whole cultural reset tbh

They were actually my first touch with kpop because of their cover of Hot Summer, which was a huge hit back in the day here in Germany. Sadly, I didn't follow up with kpop artists because I had so much on my plate at that time and wasn't generally interested in music anymore because of my metal state. Sometimes I'm really sad that I missed so many good groups that others discovered years before me an that I missed so many key moments in this genre of music that just don't have the same feeling to them now as they may had back then (though getting tickets for BTS' first concert in Germany back then was also as much of a hassle as it is now apparently...). Anyway what I wanted to say basically: Even though I didn't have anything to do with kpop at that time and it was wildly unknown to people who listened to mainstream music back then in Germany, they still had an impact to them that I couldn't forget over the years. It was always the same back in my unconsciousness: Going back to that Monrose song I would always remember at the back in my mind that there was an Asian group that did a very good job and made the song even better in my opinion. So the members might not know it but they had a little bit of attention in mainstream back in Germany which is fairly unheard of to my knowledge at that time. :)

i love f(x). they were my first kpop group and i am so thankful that they and their music helped me grow and continue going through the hardest times. this fresh, experimental image gave me strength to give more freedom to myself. say what you want, but there will always be something that distincts them from the others and their impact is so important to the kpop industry, hell, to the pop and rnb music industry in general. and it's not about "the group that had _insert member_" or "the group that had _insert song_", it's also about their hard work and chemistry. they pushed all the limits and frames together. they will never be replaced be any other older or newer group. they as 5 will forever have a special place in my heart even if i only got into them about a year ago, long after their golden era. now even SM don't list them on their website as their artists, don't re-release their albums, don't celebrate their achievements (that they still get, by the way)... thus helping everyone else to forget about f(x) like it's all a beautiful distant dream. heartbreaking, to say the least. meus, fighting! thank you for staying strong for so long

Their debut was very controversial because they were the first girl group to debut under SM right after SNSD which was a HUUUUUGE pressure. No gg has been debutted under SM for years bcus SNSD was such a big gg. They are often compared to them wc was ridiculous bc their style is very different. Stanning them is very hard and frustrating because SM just trashes them all the time even tho the were thriving. Fans cant even have the feeling of unity as we were nameless for yearssss. SM really did this grp dirty. Such a waste on the BIG potential. This just made me stop supporting SM in general. Though I still love their artists Also, Pink Tape remains as my top 1 album kpop released EVER. They did this type of aesthetic concept first. No one comes close to it even today. 4 Walls album came very close tho

I kept looking at the young girl Sulli knowing I recognized her but cldnt figure out from where. I’m not a Kpop fan. I don’t dislike it, I know a few songs and some group names but if my life depended recognizing idols to their group and groups with their songs then.... I realized just before you started to talk about her life after fx that I recognized her for how she chose to leave this world. My 2nd X hubby was a working musician and I was in adult entertainment. As hard as those fields are, I think being an idol is so much harder in every way. From when they start to when they debut and while they’re trying to stay relevant. I think the companies need to help their idols with the emotional & mental stress that can easily overwhelm a person. Being a public figure is always hard. However, in the west famous people do get some privacy and can have lives outside of their fame. This means they can get a break and get help. They have friends and fam members to point out they’re breaking down. However, it seems idols are removed from their family and chosen friends, forced to be perfect and constantly “on”. It’s too much for adults let alone a child.

I haven't finished watching the whole thing yet but I think you might have forgotten to mention 4 walls promotion was very short because luna had a musical running at the same time. I remember people disliked her for that since they blamed her for shortened promo, but her being wiling to do both at the same time is amazing, especially since she was dealing with health issues. I also remember ppl saying they were upset that luna & krystal, moreso luna, got more lines in the song instead of distributing it to victoria and amber
