I remember one joke from bolshewick era: In Moscow an Jew is studying Hebrew language and milicioner (policeman during comunist era in Russia) came to him and say: "Do not plough the sand learning this language. We will never let you to go to Izrael." "Well," replaid Jew. "But if I die and go to Heaven, I wish to make understood." "And what, if you go to Hell?" "No problem, Russian language I know perfectly."

Why don't we give up political and racist comments and enjoy this beautiful acapella arrangement? Music overrides all prejudices.

Sadly not, music can't overrides hate, some people wright very vulgar comments for most heroic and patriotic Serbian songs, no respect for dead soldiers in WW1,i agree with you we must give up hate ,political comments ....and enjoy the art .At the end of the day music and art are timeless

This is wonderful. I love this video. This version of Yerushalaim Shel Zahav makes me feel close to God. I am a christian but when I listen to this song I feel that the love of God reaches us all regardless the religion we practice. Long live Israel for introducing spirituality to the world.

I found this video to be very calming, almost like a caress of hope for all..I remember hearing this song as a kid so many times...I felt like it was meant as a way of telling us Jews that life in Israel was always going to be okay because we loved Israel and each other.

Differences should always be respected. As I said I am a christian who is a profound admirer of jewish history and religion. And even with our differences I think anybody who sits and listens to this song will feel moved by it. Long live Israel.

"1 It will be that when all things come upon you - the blessing and the curse that I have presented before you - then you will take it to your heart among all the nations where Hashem, your God, has dispersed you; 2 and you will return unto Hashem, your God, and listen to His voice, according to everything that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and all your soul. 3 Then Hashem, your God, will bring back your captivity and have mercy upon you, and He will gather you in from all the peoples to which Hashem, your God, has scattered you. 4 If your dispersed will be at the ends of the heaven, from there Hashem your God, will gather you in and from there He will take you. 5 Hashem, your God, will bring you to the Land that your forefathers possessed and you shall possess it; He will do good to you and make you more numerous than your forefathers." - Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30: 1-5

I remember another joke An Jew sits in an park in Berlin 1937 and reads an right wing newspaper. He looks very happy and another Jew joins him and asks why he is happy when reading this newspaper. The reader replies: 'I am poor and feel that we Jews are not of high value, but this newspaper says that the Jews rule the world, and everything is dependend upon them. This really makes me feel important.' Fantastic interpretation of this Song!

@bjcasper He has already come-you didn't have much to worry about then, he came as Messiah ben Josef, the suffering Messiah, The Lamb of G-d. What you have to worry about is when He returns as Messiah ben David, The LION of Judah, The Deliverer of Israel from all their enemies. You will cry out for the mountains to crush you rather than to face His wrath. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that "Jesus is LORD" to the glory of God the Father. Bow now, or bow later.
