I lost an animation job to AI generated art. Animation isn't even one of the most affected fields. But the other freelancer prbbaly generated the whyole thing in 2 days, and for cheaper. Can't compete with that. So much of client's demands are ambiguous, and they don't trully know what they want. If it gets more results faster with less resources it is unlikely an artist will actually be hired.

No bro, according to his logic jobs of creative people in the industry will going to go. which is really not gonna happen and here is why: In any company you need graphic designer to basically for promoting your business or for UI if have a digital product like Google. So companies will still need them because only designers can solve those problems and company depend on them not on a fcking Dalle 2. Because the ceo or founder doesnt have the time for designing they have other decisions to make. They dont know which graphics will influence and increase their reach. So that's why creative jobs are not going to go. And stop taking advices seriously from a random KZbinr, use your head, your logic and observe

Hey don't be afraid, understand that if you want someone to follow you you have to make them afraid, anixious, create doubt about the future by splitting random facts , connecting them somehow then presenting them as facts and presenting yourself, as if you know the future. Elon musk said in his recent podcast , it's much harder to build auto pilot cars then he THOUGHT. Search for google just broke the turing test by kalle hallden on youtube. Don't get manipulated so easily belive in your skills. A.I works on data and data can be manipulated which means results can be manipulated too.😂 That's why use your brain because A.I dont have brain it just have data.

Even thought human creativity begins with copying, AI currently cannot move beyond that. A skilled artist takes many sources of inspiration and combines them with their own personal experience and feelings to a point where the original sources of inspiration cannot be distinguished or are significantly changed. however dali needs a creative prompt from a human and a predefined identifiable style, that is not creativity. Dali creates art without soul. The only thing that AI hurts is lazy copy and paste artists and writers who can't take the next step and move beyond just remixing content, characters story and style. Remixing is the first step not the finish line. Also to get an image out of dali or a usable script out of open AI, and have it look like anything other than AI generated takes a great deal of tweaking your prompts, regenerating and editing, it's almost as fast to just do it yourself if you want a outcome that comes anywhere close to a skilled human.

Interesting pov..Even Neil jacobstein , a famous AI expert said that people are going to be surprised on how ML will displace many jobs... However he also said that emotional ticket is a winning connection in the world, because to do this you have to surprise people and machines have made very little progress there.. However, i do agree that many creative jobs face a threat.. My take is communication, leadership and empathy will be the most valued soft skills.. Also AGI applications will have a huge demand and the people who will work on it will always have cherry market prospects.. Instead of getting scared of AI we should embrace it and improve and constantly polish our skillset for by any metrics it has , is and will make our lives incredibly comfortable and convinient.. Also writing good quality code and building high quality software products will perhaps be the most valued skill..

"Pessimists sound smart. Optimists make money." - Nat Friedman. Well, AI is based on an enormous amount of data, and that's why they have infinite knowledge compared to humans. So, if someone can use Alexa as a baby monitor, does it mean it can replace them, the Parents as a whole ?? A Designer's responsibility is not only to create pretty-looking designs; it requires a wide range of responsibilities and skill-sets to become one. Do you think, Wix can replace a professional designer or a developer? In the context of Creative jobs, If you're saying AI will replace them, then you're WRONG. But for sure, AI will impact some of their roles & responsibilities. AI is not smarter than humans. We created AI, not the other way around. Can AI build an app for a specific group of people to solve a complex-specific kind of problem? AIs (Alexa, Siri, Tricycle.ai, Dall. e, DeepCoder, Github-Copilot, IBM's Watson, etc.) exist not to replace artists, designers, developers, or us as human beings, but rather to improve our capabilities. I'm deeply convinced that AI, ML Models, etc. are just tools for the PROFESSIONALS and a complete replacement for the UNPROFESSIONAL. It's common sense, you know! If you are not capable of upskilling yourself, then forget about AI; you'll be easily replaced by some random dude. If you believe we or our careers will be replaced by AI, isn't it possible that one day AI will be replaced by something else??!! Until we're not completely dependent on AI and have a strong POINT-OF-VIEW and EMPATHY, we're safe. It doesn't matter if the canned cake is a "thing" now; handmade cakes still exist. Right? Lastly, AI will replace the creatives of today, not the creatives of tomorrow. See the positive side. It will assist you (us) to make decisions faster and solve problems efficiently. Now, it's up to you (us) whether you (we) perceive AI as a threat or an opportunity. Anyways, nice content !! 👍👍

What I see is that AI can facilitate many many tasks from a creative POV; however, it is up to each individual to evolve next this technology or not.

One thing AI probably won't affect much is Novel/story writing. Of course AI can create these things but a good story or a good Novel is not just content, it's communication of ideas and views on our human condition between the writer and the readers. It's humans collectively reflecting on our lives and experiences and that will never be completely replaced by AI tools.

I agree with that. They will probably be a competition, but writing still depends on the person's personal view/interpretations of the world.

Actually, all stories can be boiled down to 36 plot principles. There's a book about it. Literally, all stories in existence are variations on one of the 36 principles. Ai would just need to understand context, structure, expressions, archetypes and pacing, and from a pool of literal millions of example stories and novels it would be able to generate complex and intriguing storylines based on a single prompt. There are experimental diffusion systems that should do this that are being worked on right now, so at this rate of progress, I assume in 2 years, all writing will become obsolete in relation to economic gain.

@@vuk8550 as I said writing is communication between people. Of course AI will be able to generate compelling stories that doesn't mean humans will not pay to read something that other humans have written.

@@raktimabhdas9534 I agree, but AI will flatten the quality line and destroy the market. Literally like what we are experiencing with art at this very moment. Although it is still in the early stage, the art market will get decimated. It has been estimated that an AI will generate more art in the next 2 years than what was created in the last 100 years collectively. And it will be accessible to everyone. So yes, people will still write and make a living from it, but it seems to me that the bar for quality writing will jump so high, that only the very few will stay above it, mostly famous contemporary writers while all other writing needs, be it technical, creative etc, will be supplied from the AI simply because of its cheap accessibility. Mind you though, I am talking about writing strictly in relation to the economy, people will always write and nothing will change that. But our relationship with writing, art, music etc will change drastically.

@@giantjupiter but still gone over and double checked by a human. AI and humans work in tandom... AI does the iteration and the artist does the "training"/selecting, So you get the AI the thumbnail out what you want and select the desired result. I bet there tons of options that weren't selected or tweeks were made here n there. What's lost is the meditative aspect of the process of doing the technical work... unless you wish to do art in more traditional media (only way that gets replaced is if you spend the cash the cash to assemble the materials to build a robotic arm to do the hand done stuff for you, although it's still cheaper and takes less effort to just get a human to do the work instead of wasting the upfront cost of building the robot arm to do the work) which could still have a bit of a market due to the unique nature of handcrafted traditional art pieces. Digital art however will be driven by AI using humans with an eye and vision for the desired final product telling the computer what to make for them.

this is just depressing. Most of what I do falls under the 3 categories you mentioned. In a couple decades all of the time and energy ive put into learning "my craft" will be rendered meaningless, or at least substantially less meaningful. What is even the point anymore aside for the fact that its not there yet. While a technical feat, its not cool, its just sad. I used to think AI was cool but now I hate it. Others are saying it will create new jobs but you cant just kill someone's spouse, give them a new one, and expect them to be happy and fine with it. Not to mention there wont be enough new spouses to go around.

The year hasn't been great for me as every single interest and hobby I have been pursuing has been automated one after the next. Even if it's not at a point where it replaces me completely, It's planted a seed of doubt in the value of all the skills I've cultivated up to this point.

Hey Varun , I agree with what you are saying but I have few genuine question/doubts. 1.Will such AI applications have the ability to do something like product design which is a mixture of "UX" and "UI" i.e Creativity + Research. 2. Will AI able to generate ideas or design ideas with very minimal training data. (I.e New ideas) For eg. Consider that Zomato is the first food delivery so will AI be able to generate such ideas of digitising food delivery Or ideas how there digital product. { According to my opinion, the 2 nd question is very similar to the last point you mentioned in the video but asking if you have any different point of view. And as a beginner in product design I take inspiration from the world that's how creativity functions and that's how AI works too . I agree with you too 100%}
