The ecological nature of this repackaging is something I can relate to. I keep thinking about how accustomed everyone I every new had become to Jewel cases on compact discs, but it was a bit of a saving grace when they started being packaged in slender cardboard cases. For my own part, I've only had one solo record put on cd, but I would definitely want them put in cardboard packaging of this type if I had any other work of mine pressed onto CDs. *Fragile* is my first full-length Yes album. It'll always be my go-to when it comes to their music, even if the follow-up album, *Close to the Edge,* takes a close second.

Coincidentally Fragile is due to land in the UK in its Atlantic 75th Anniversary guise at the end of the month - a 45 rpm double album - also remastered. If it's anywhere near as good as its 'Selling England' counterpart it should be quite an audio treat!
@alanchampion651915 күн бұрын
I already have it. IMO it eclipses Selling England and is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Yes I love the ELP t-shirt and the Fragile album. Rhino does excellent work with reissues. They keep me buying physical music. I’m not buying vinyl anymore but the Steve Wilson remixes of the Yes albums are interesting. I have on CD with the BluRay discs. Some are better than the original IMO. Please keep sharing unboxing of classic reissues. Rock on!

I've had this remix since the box came out a few years ago. Fantastic improvement over the original.
@onsenkuma-l2p15 күн бұрын
This was part of a limited vinyl box set of Steve Wilson mixes from 2018 that included everything from The Yes Album through Relayer. All have similarly 're-imagined' art work. In addition to coloured vinyl it looks like they've given it a glossier sleeve this time.
@FormulaProg13 күн бұрын
If I'm not mistaken and I don't think I am because I have it in my collection, but fragile was also released as part as the start of your ear right campaign last year. But it was the normal album, not the Wilson remix on clear vinyl... I know people like to overuse the term cash cow for reissues, but this one does seem a bit silly especially at import prices.
@kwacker457 күн бұрын
I was interested in this one, I’ve got the original album and this would fit in nicely. I know how it sounds and I like this mix so ….
@danielsolano60215 күн бұрын
I dig how you talk about the sound of the band becoming its own thing from "Fragile" going forward. but at the same time man, I love "The Yes Album" and "Fragile" as a pair. I think they complement each other perfectly. I love how even "Starship Trooper" has a wildness about it that still keeps me tripping in the forest rather than launching me into space. But of course by "The Heart of the Sunrise", I'm in deep space. But I digress! It's all about fragile today.

Hey there, love your channel and videos, but, and there is a but... I would expect a little bit of constructive criticism. Hopefully to come with other reviews. Myself and my friend, fans of Yes (well, I am more of an aprentice of a big fan) enrolled on a 5.1 journey a while ago and missed the boat with some of the CD/DVD or BR combo releases and now what Yes (or the label) are doing is simply wrong. No standalone releases of BR disc with Surround mixes, or even as previously CD/BR combos, just the new shiny Vinyl/CDs/BR edition - for fans there must be a way to differentiate. All I need is the BD. Already have CD\Vinyl. It's a lot of money to pay for the bundles like that... Same could be said about other musicians and their price points. David Gilmour - wanna CD & Bluray buy both (but there is no bundle). This is sickening, it really is. Aphrodite's Child 666 - Bluray up-mix - Really? Just release it on it own... UGH. You reviewed it as great box set, and as such it is, but because you do not own a surround set-up that review is slightly misleading... ah well, rant finnished. Again, really enjoying the content...

I purchased the Steven Wilson 4 album boxed set. I don't care for it at all. I would greatly prefer a cleaned up, better sounding, original mix. Incidentally there are some new mixes available of The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge from Acoustic Sounds in Kansas, U.S. These are mastered and pressed from the origianl master tapes by Kevin Gray (superb) and is part of the Atlantic 75. I have The Yes Album and Close to the Edge and they are the best versions I've ever heard including my early original pressing. I thought my copy of Fragile was good enough but ten I hear these. On the way. Oh, these are from Atlantic 75, not Acoustic Sounds own projects which are typically very, very good. Ooh, my Bad Company album just arrived. And, weird as it seems, I listen to at least classical stuff these days. The pop offerings "Sell By Date" just comes up too quickly.
