Legend says she is still crying this day... Hehe. MY GOD. This game was SUCH a ride. It was beautiful in every way, the art direction, environmental design, the characters' backstories, the main story. Ghost of Tsushima will always have a special place in my heart. I am grateful for many reasons. The experience of the game of course, but also because it allowed me to find a lot of really cool people and for me to finally build up my channel! It set things in motion I normally never even would have dreamed of and I just can't believe it's over. I really hope you will all still stick with me! 😊
So here is a thank you to you, my viewer. Thank you for coming on this journey with me. It meant a lot!

Hi, my name is Lauren and I make weekly gaming-related videos! Pop the kettle, we're playing games tonight.
What's Ghost of Tsushima?
"In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan. As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima."

I am Japanese. The impression of the game is a masterpiece game without strange cultural expressions. The character's emotions and personality are faithful to the reproduction of the old Japanese. I'm using Google Translate, so I'm sorry if it's a strange English sentence.

If you want to understand the actions and remarks made by Jin's uncle, you can understand that the [Seven virtues of Bushido] are engraved in your heart. In the olden days, Japanese people valued a way of life and death that was not embarrassing to be seen by the people and gods around them. This is the aesthetics of a man who wants you to understand regardless of national borders or religions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXylXqaip8SBrNE

(Yes, I'm cheesy AF, and i'ts even difficult for me to allow it myself ... ) This whole gameplay of Ghost of Tsushima got me to your channel, and you have helped me a lot. Well, not only me, from what we have read in the chat. So don't even worry we don't stick up, we were not here for the game, we are here to watch your clumsiness!! Your wholesome self has helped me open up, as I was really afraid to do that due to some past events (I won't bother you with my life). For the first time in a long time I feel I can be myself without being judged for it, so joking around chatting with you all brightens up my day and cheers me up. Hard for me to feel I belong somewhere, TBH. You are creating a small family, as we people in the chat are starting to know each other and it feels like hanging out with friends! #latetotheparty , why do i enjoy watching people play this game is beyond me, this ending is incredible. I myself chose to SPARE Lord Shimura, cause it was in line with Jin's character. He forsake honor to protect the people, to be the Ghost. And going back to "honorable choice" in this matter wouldn't be in line with what he was fighting for. The people. His friends, his family. Both endings are amazing. Very nice playthrough :)

Hi Rafal! Thank you for watching my playthrough! This one was so heartbreaking, but I am really happy I went for it in the end. I do understand why you picked that! Part of me would have chosen that for the same reason. But then I thought our uncle would literally stay behind and die, or the shogun would have punished him for failing to reclaim his honour. It just felt right at the time!

While both ends have a right to exist, this decision is the end of Jins Journey to become the ghost. by sparing Shimura jin leaves the old stubborn ways of the samurai behind him and fully becomes the ghost . Jin does not care about honor any more, he fights for what he thinks is right and does what must be done! and to kill his family is not the right thing to do. Honor died at the beach. So this choice is natural and very logical to me. Great Game, Great endings!

Hi Lauren! I watched your live stream this evening and since I'm currently in the middle of revisiting this beautiful game for maybe the 4th or 5th time (I'm 200+ hrs in) I thought I'd rewatch you finishing the game and it's touching to see how much the ending affected you! Totally just my opinion but I think I may be on the right track... I think you chose the correct option. For one, Shimura asked you to kill him. To a samurai, a death in battle is the most honorable/desired way to die so fulfilling his last wish was the only right thing to do. Second, had you not chosen to kill him, the Shogun would have. Remember, it was his punishment to kill Jin and he would have too because of honor. But since he failed to do that (among all his other failings according to the gossip going around while Jin was making his prison break with the help of Kenji), the Shogun most likely would have force Shimura to commit seppuku- ritual suicide which involves stabbing yourself in the stomach and while the blade is in you make an upward slice towards the sternum with the end result being your internals spilling out in front of you. Jin wouldn't have wanted that and he wouldn't have wanted all the shame for Shimura. I know it's 2 years too late but since you asked for recommendations I suggest Horizon Zero Dawn, it's sort of spiritual sibling to GoT and if you played the Iki Island dlc you'll be able to find an easter egg confirming that the devs feel the same way too. Anyway, be well!

(Most streamers seem to care more about their chat than the game's story) I loved your reaction to the story and all of the details of the game. If you're open to suggestions please do Red Dead Redemption 2 (if you haven't already). It also has an amazing story. It's a prequel so it doesn't matter if you haven't played the first. I allways spare him cause that's the ghost option and this point jin is full in commited to being the ghost and what it means so he has no honour and doesn't care so honouring he's wish for death is not what he would but i can see why people choose to honour him. And you absolutely made the right choice of endings. Even if a person isn't familiar with feudal Japanese traditions and values, the game designers went so all-in with the feudal Japan immersion that by the time one gets to the ending the choice was clear: he had to kill him. I looked up the other ending, and the emotional impact is absolute zero compared to this one.

This is a good fight, thank you for sharing the play through. Between Khotun Khan and Lord Shimura, I find dueling with Lord Shimura was actually difficult. It never came across my mind that the last boss fight was actually Lord Shimura, I was surprised (playing blind that time) I duel with Lord Shimura for quite some time, hoping there would be a cut scene somewhere to stop the duel and resolve truce, but I had to defeat him in the end after some time. When I was given the option to either finish off or spare Lord Shimura, I chose spare. If Jin become an outlaw and hunted for the rest of his life for saving people like Robin Hood, so Lord Shimura can live on then so be it. Once again, thank you for your video.

@@leo-shun Some people seem to not understand Japanese culture and its history. You might not understand as a Westerner living in the 21th century, but Honor and Discipline were 2 of the most important principles of Japanese bushido. Dishonoring your lord by failing your mission is THE upmost disrespectful thing you could do and to regain your honor and not stain the reputation / honor of your lord, you would commit seppuku / ask for a warrior's death. What you fail to comprehend here is that letting Shimura live is probably a Samurai's biggest nightmare. He'll have been insulted by not receiving his warrior's death, but most of all, he was refused that death by his own "son" (seppukus would be most often carried out by uncles, fathers, brothers of the person doing the ritual). That would be one of the most devastating thing for a samurai. Above all that, the Shogun would probably ask Shimura for his head since he failed his mission and brought dishonor to the Shimura line. With the "Jin kills Shimura" ending, at least Shimura receives a proper warrior's death from his own family and not the governement. In my mind, there are 2 clear cut endings: The proper one, and the selfish, illogical choice; give your uncle what he seeks, or let him die to the hand of the governement in shame without his family by his side.

You have such a beautiful heart. Now there is legend mode, trust me, it's a whole new world, and since it's played online, it would be such an honor to have my Samurai fighting beside you, lol just let me know if i can. I can also teach you everything i know. Also have you played the Last of Us? The first is very good, but the second... Man, it got me reflecting over life for WEEKS. Such an incredible story.

Thank you so much for all your support and comments, they made me very happy to read and motivated to keep going! I would love to try legends sometime! It's actually a really fun idea to play that with viewers sometime!! Maybe in one of my livestreams. You made the right choice , even if we are willing to let go of honor we don’t get to force that on others , also it was like killing the last part of us that existed before the ghost , to let him live was the cruel choice , he would have had to live hunting you and hating you and it would have broke his heart . Killing him was the only option if you’re a good person

Hiii Lauren ! Congrats on your amazing gameplay, I followed your videos after I played the part of the game and it was liking sharing experiences throughout the journey. I spared uncle’s life bc I simply couldn’t kill him, our only family, and it seems more coherent to the path of the Ghost we chose during the war, following “our” code of honor you know? But either way, there is no correct ending, just like life! That’s why this is one of my favorite games and I’m glad it is yours too 💕😍💕😍

I went with the decision not to kill lord Shimura. Lord Shimura said Jin had no honor and was no longer a samurai, yet he asked to be given an honorable from somewhat he said had no honor. Jin was the Ghost of Tsushima and the rules or principles he once lived by no longer applied to him. He didn't live by the way of the samurai, but by the way of the Ghost.

I completely understand both sides, hence why it was such a hard decision! For me it was more the thought of him being wounded badly in that moment and I was worried he was going to die a slow and painful death because of me. Or if he would have survived, the dishonour it would have brought him and the consequences. But either way, the ending was amazing!

So, I "spared' him. Not because I didn't want to kill him. Instead, my feeling was he was a dogmatic fool whose blind allegiance to the 'code' led to the suffering of his people. A 'code' that led him to have no qualms about sacrificing his 'son'. Sure, the Ghost was not perfect, but he was pragmatic and willing to adapt to protect his people. So, yeah, my sparing him was completely malicious................ And yeah, taking a step back. Bloody amazing game. Tears were shed, and even in the places were I guessed the coming story lines, they were still emotional when they hit. Looking forward to the expansion pack, and if they bring out GoT 2... ohh yeah!!!
