IT CAN HAPPEN
You can fool yourself
You can cheat until you're blind
You can cut your heart
It can happen
You can mend the wires
You can feed the soul apart
You reach
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
It's a constant fight
A constant fight
You're pushing the needle to the red
Black and white
Who knows who's right
No substitute you're born you're dead
Fly by night
Created out of fantasy
Our destinations call
Look up - Look down
Look out - Look around
Look up - Look down
There's a crazy world outside
We're not about to lose our pride
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
As you happen to say
It can happen today
As it happens
It happens in every way
This world I like
We architects of life
A song a sigh
Developing words that linger
Through fields of green through open eyes
This for us to see
Look up - Look down
Look out - Look around
So look up - Look down
There's a crazy world outside
We're not about to lose our pride
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
As you happen to say
It can happen today
As it happens
It happens in every way
As you happen to see
It will happen to be
Nothing happens to nowhere and nowhere
[Solo]
Look up - Look down
There's a crazy world outside
We're not about to lose our pride
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
As you happen to see
It will happen to be
Nothing happens to nowhere and nowhere
You can fool yourself
You can cheat until you're blind
You can cut your heart
You can fool yourself
You can cheat until you're blind
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
You can cut your heart
It can happen to everyone eventually
As you happen to say
It can happen today
As it happens
It happens in every way
You can mend the wires
You can feed the soul apart
You can touch your life
You can bring your soul alive
It can happen to you
It can happen to me
It can happen to everyone eventually
As you happen to say
It can happen today
As it happens
It happens in every way

90125 is the eleventh studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, released in 1983 on Atco Records. It was the first studio album since their 1981 breakup and the first to feature Trevor Rabin, and also marked the return of vocalist Jon Anderson, who had quit the band prior to their tenth studio album of 1980. It also marked the first time in twelve years that original keyboardist Tony Kaye had appeared with the group.
The album was titled after its Atco Records catalogue number (for example, 7-90125-1 for the LP).

Me too. When 90125 came out I was 14. I thought they were a new group. I went to Sam the Record on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto to buy the album. The Yes bin was filled with albums! That's when I learned they had been around since the year I was born. The second Yes album I bought was "Drama" about two months later. A friend at school told me to get "The Yes Album," and that was the next one I bought a few months later. I had almost all of their albums within two years. I never bought "Tales." ;)

What I think some people may miss is that a lot of songs from Yes in this era are actually very inspirational. This song, Owner of a Lonely Heart, Changes, etc...bringing Anderson back at the last minute to sing on 90125 really compelled the band to new heights, and combined with Rabin's incredible song writing and riffs just make this whole album such a masterpiece of prog rock. Loved it then, and love it even more now lol

Chris Squire's Green bass here- I grew up in Winchester, Massachusetts. In a building right off the downtown square, was a Jim Mouradian's Guitar repair & building shop. Jim was great- He built this bass for Squire, and there were always a bunch of this design hanging around the shop. One of his employees was Pat Badger, who later was the bass player for the band Extreme. Jim Mouradian died only a year after Chris Squire, and I raise a glass to them both.

This album made such an impact on me, my sister and our friend group back in the day. Many a night was spent sitting on bar stools around our stereo, learning the harmonies. 4 or 5 of us singing the different parts (with varying success, not that it mattered.) Beautiful. Got to see them live on this tour, then again just a few years ago before Chris Squire passed. Beautiful moments in life, grateful to have shared them with people I love, some of whom are no longer with us. Time really does fly.

Did you explore their earlier music? I used to live with their music in my ears while I was reading back in the early 70's. They are forever part of my life. Don't leave me hanging for your answer! 😀😀

They went full new wawe for this music video, you can tell by all of the surreal and chill atmosphere alongside the neons. Even tho i adore the heck out of chris's outfits, I really don't know what went on his mind while designing this look in particular, it's like you took a shipwreck and combined it with a spacesuit, but these are the 80s so you gotta use as much leather as possible, especially black and silver. It's cool but very unusual for him. That green bass with the initials also doesn't go well with the outfit, i know he used it for the sound, but as someone like him who really cared about harmony and balance in his looks he shoud have gone with something green in the outfit, but that's just me knitpicking. If someone knows the lore behind this look or other ones of his plese let me know.

70's purists can argue the Rabin years were a major departure from Yes' roots, but the truth is, without them being significant again in the 80's, there is no Hall of Fame until most or all the members are gone, if they ever made it.

THANK YOU for 90125! I was in my mid-teens when it was released, and not only did it get me to discover the greatness that is YES....but singing along with lead and harmonizing with my real and falsetto vocals, taught me many more music lessons than I ever learned in school! Plus, it turned me on to a style I had missed due to being raised on mostly country & Western. I still remember the APRIL FOOLS release of the video for LEAVE IT on MTV! 18 versions played in a row! I LOVED IT!
