Happy Birthday Trevor Rabin born on January 13, 1954. He is a South African musician, songwriter, and film composer. Rabin gained prominence as the guitarist in the progressive rock band Yes from 1983 to 1995. His first album with the group, 1983's 90125, which was developed mostly from his own demos, remains their best-selling album, helped by the US number one single "Owner of a Lonely Heart". After Big Generator (1987) and Union (1991), Rabin produced Talk (1994) and left the group after its tour. During his time in Yes, Rabin acquired American citizenship. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Rabin

What a time to had been a child! Was turning 6 years of age when this album debuted, in September 1987. So yes, I was there lol. Just thankful to had been living when it came out. Gives you generational credit and bragging rights. With all that being said, this song and I are inseparable! The keyboard is one of my favorite aspects, for its sound/presence makes a world of a difference! Actually sounds like it's corresponding with the melody and lyrics. Perfect element for a mid-uptempo Yes classic. 🎹

Trevor really seemed to elevate Chris as more of a 'frontman' during this era of Yes. I don't recall ever seeing Chris interact with Steve like he did with Trevor. I saw this era of Yes 4 times and loved the dynamic that Trevor brought to the band. Btw, Happy Birthday Mr. Rabin 😎
@jbone7m11 жыл бұрын
I know purist Yes fans think that these songs were a sell out in the prog rock years, but Trevor Rabin saved Yes by infusing a rock edge with vocals that can't be matched as far as harmonies go in their earlier stuff, as Anderson and Squire frame Rabin's voice pretty darned perfectly. Steve Howe could easily have stepped into this song and added his clear melodic playing. This was the "New Yes" and they did well to carry on the band to a whole new generation.

no no, trevor horn was the producer, nothing to do whit Rabin Squire was looking for something difrent, and since Wakeman leave them, they need to get something new and at this time Howe was on ASIA. so they need fresh and get Rabin. the resolt was 90125 and big generator. Trevor Rabin was on the top 2 producers on the 80´s ( i´m a camera, video kill radio star MTV hit) and so on. the right person to get them something difrent. Since yes is not a group, more like a project, they will never died, the next step is to see their sons playng on YES and get us all this magician music and momments..................... long live

I love Yes! Jon Andersons vocals with Alan on drums, Squire on Bass, Kaye on Keys, and Trevor Rabins amazing virtuosity on Guitar, combined with their harmonies, absolutely amazing! There is not a band on the planet that sounds like this! Saw them together on the Talk tour at the Gorge in George. It was a spiritual experience! Love me some Yes!

I love this song because I remember seeing it on VH1 when I was a kid and it just made me happy. ... and now in 2024 it still make me happy. 😃 The 80's were just awesome, if you didn't grow up during this decade then it's hard to believe me but, it was amazing as a kid.
Time to Turn the page buddy, every decade is special for those who grew up in it.

One of the injustices of the music charts. Why this didn't go top 10 is beyond knowing. The melody of this song will keep you humming it all day. Yes did not release all that many singles (nine from 1971 to 1987) as they weren't really a singles band. But when they did it was a real treat to hear them on the radio.
