Audience Recording (Kardyl)
This is Yes’s first gig in the year 2012, which would bring a major change for the group, as Jon Davidson replaces Benoit David on vocals (presumably due to Benoit’s vocal issues on the previous legs). This would also be the start of the oceania leg of Yes’s Fly From Here Tour. Overall this is a great show, the band are playing great tonight with Jon Davidson bringing in a great show tonight with his singing, which I think fits Yes’s music pretty well. What helps this show even more is that it’s recorded on a crystal clear audience recording which makes it really feel like your ears are inside the room. A fact I forgot to mention is that this is Yes’s first show in New Zealand as their 1973 shows were cancelled for unknown reasons, which Chris even mentions with the line “We finally made it”. Overall a nice, enjoyable listen for a Fly From Here fan.
