It’s not a ´renewal’, one, cause it’s not a TV show. Movies don’t get renewed. They might get sequels, but that’s not a renewal because it’s not an ongoing TV series. There’s a difference between the full cost of a full season of TV and a movie sequel. Second, they don’t even incur that cost, because they license the 365 movies, they don’t make it. They’re just a distributor. So in comparison to making their own content it cost way way way less to just be the American distributor. It’s not remotely comparable cost. The decisions aren’t even likely made by the same departments or people.

Also, to go more in depth a bit about the "rearrange guts" part, most guys even misinterpret that as just pounding when, let's use spaghetti and spoon for example, you can gently stir the spaghetti around the pot to "rearrange" them with the spoon to mix everything together (if you put sauce and noodles together). You can't "rearrange" anything by just pounding in one spot of the spaghetti. It does nothing at all. I had to explain this to a guy since I'm a smex educator, and he seemed to get it somewhat. I'm just annoyed with how they misinterpret these codes for something so violent.

When Kennie talked about "always picking the first guy" I remembered book by Xiran Jay Zhao called " The Iron Widow". It is an ok YA novel with traditional chinese culture done right in a somewhat futuristic setting. In this novel our obligatory love triangle just becomes poly. Like, the MG were " Oh I have 2 hands actually and my 1st boyfriend too ( and this dude is a masterpiece, I really wanted a little bit more of him actually, he is this refined and elegant young man who I think is kind of scary actually, because like he is equally messed up as the main girl and her second boyfriend) soo " Their poly is sweet and really refreshing tho. They all have got a nice chemistry.

I've been doing some reflection and girl, when have super toxic relationships not been made to be sexy. Phantom of the opera: creepy stalker that watches you through the wall and "punishes" everyone when someone else touches you. Feels like you "owe" him yourself cause he taught you to sing through the wall as an Orphan child. The great gatsby: I would not feel good that some guy out there is stalking me after I got married and spends millions to "lure" me to his house because he's obsessed with me. Jane eyre: Some dude that can't keep a relationship ignores his illegitimate daughter 99.98% of the time to be obsessed with her teenaged nanny that's more than young enough to be his daughter. When the teenaged/20 nanny is like "finally! For once in my life someone loves me!". He tries to commit "bigamy" against her will and knowledge (when she finds out she doesn't even think of being with him till his wifes dead). Poor man, "you're my precious, I'll hide you in a villa in france so no one can know your my mistress" (I guess screw attempting to raise his bastard daughter by now. Her dad and her nanny were supposed to ghost her if he had his way). Wuthering heights: I can't stand cathy. Everyone that met her would be 10 times better off if they never met her, except heath, and everyone that meets heath would have been 100 times better off they didn't meet him especially cathy. I can't stand the excuses people make for heath. I couldn't even get into him when I fell for toxic romances. At the end he proudly shows his results to the men by demonstrating that she does whatever he commands ("take off your favorite hat" "throw it away I don't like it", more like "sit, roll over") Hamlet: crazed dude tells 14 year old girl who's virginity he took, that she's basically spoiled goods and because no one will marry her now she should spend her days in a nunnery. Instead of doing some internal reflection on how HE'S the reason she killed herself, he pulls a kanye on HER FUNERAL and claims that he loves her more than her brother who never mistreated her & everyone else. Romeo and juliet: 16 year old boy goes grooms a 13 year old girl (13 made her considered an almost old maid for her time). My theory is that while he's juliet's first and most likely only love (since purity culture made girls justify having sex by staying with one man forever), romeo has a "habit" of finding himself in the same toxic relationship. We're introduced to him by learning about rosaline who he's also "suicidal" over (has no reason to live). Boy goes from being suicidal over his fresh break to thinking his "true love" is a dove that makes all the other girls look like crows, even rosaline, in only 2 hours probably. He gives me bipolar vibes, pete Davidson vibes. Like how pete obsesses with his girlfriend pretty much as soon as they met and thinks he's going to marry them (I believe it's the reason he didn't end on good terms with kim k). I'm sick of the people that defend persephone and hades, he most likely raped her. A greek girl entered a heated discussion about them once and said the story of hades/pers was used by mothers/female relatives to comfort/advise greek girls going into arranged marriages because yes, he will rape you against your will but you might still have a wonderful relationship after. Just like how persephone falls for the guy who probably bruised her body from how painful he clutched her/dug his nails into her in order to abduct her. Some of these stories are my guilty pleasures and a younger me thought some of them were goals. Only most of jane austen's stories age well surprisingly, the only pairing that I didn't find stellar were because jane lived in such a toxic time period, her characters read like they had barely any options. The main character & sometimes second usually got the most unrealistically good love interest & the rest seemed like they settled. Something called "mr.darcy's diary" was found and a good portion of his time was spent effing prostitutes. In austen's time period almost every nobleman or man of means did this to pass time. I always felt austen never showed the worse things that would be true for characters like mr.darcy and mr. Knightley. I felt like she wanted to daydream so she made them seem like they would never do it.

It is interesting that in stories with a love triangle the one relationship that is preferred is the one where there's the passion, over the one that where they get along. A lot these stories have mislead us into believing that passion is more important than true intimacy and friendship in a relationship. Sure passion and sexual attraction can be important, but that's not what sustains a romantic relationship long term. So I was to give anything to this particular movie, is that it showcase that passion and sex isn't enough. Depending on how it ends of course, I may have to take that positive away.
