Ted wasn’t being rude, his humor is often reactionary. Comedians are often comedic by being reactionary. As a viewer, I was confused almost every minute of this game show. I bet it was confusing for Ted too, an easy way to be comedic about the whole thing is to poke at some flaws. His customized item looked weird, and you might say “it’s the thought that counts, since he went to rainforest café and he might like air fryers”, but when he says he doesn’t like it, it’s actually easier for me to say “that’s a weird gift”, because he verified that it is to him. When you’re told that your gold standard prize is an air fryer with glitter and stickers on it, you being a comedic KZbinr, you might be honest and say how weird the prize is.

I agree it was a weird prize but it also doesn't matter cuz you're walking away with only one silly prize of many anyway... I think the ways Ted comes off rude isn't being honest about the prize, its that all of his jokes were at the host and game show's expense and he didn't even prep or show up on time
