Agreed 100%! I’ve seen Jon Anderson three times. The first two times were when he formed ARW with Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman, and then again last year with The Band Geeks. All three shows were amazing! That was more YES sounding than whatever this is. It’s NOT YES without Jon Anderson, and everyone knows it. Geoff Downes is no Rick Wakeman and should’ve stayed with Asia. This “YES” makes my heart sad and my ears bleed. If you haven’t heard, Jon Anderson is releasing a new album this Summer with the Band Geeks and I’m so excited! Can’t wait! Go see Jon with the Band Geeks! They rock!

My God, the judgy I'm reading in the comments below. Some of the commenters here should be ashamed. Many of these musicians won't be with us anymore, in as little as 10 years...or even 5. No grace. No appreciation. And no grateful attitudes of any kind. What is wrong with us? Just passing our judgy on as if it really matters what we think, imagine the hubris. These people actually played their instruments. And they actually sang with their own voices, in an era when very few young artists take the time and trouble to develop the skills and do that anymore. Really, it's amazing that anybody even bothers! I liked the song. It would have been nice to hear it live, and I've been to Yes shows, so I know what I'm talking about. This performance was good enough because it was shipshape enough. It is Yes. It might not be your favorite Yes, but seriously, anybody who says it isn't Yes is just being mean and crusty. We've learned nothing about the messages of love and kindness that earlier versions of this band and many others crafted a half-century or more ago. Concert's over with, now everybody please leave politely, and don't leave any trash in the parking lot! 🤨

Well, in terms of “left the band,” Squire and White, uh, died. And Anderson was fired when he suffered respiratory illness and the band (Howe, mainly) refused to cancel a tour to wait for him to recover. And if you think that Davison and Downes “sounds great,” I am suspicious of your pedigree as a long-term Yes fan.

Get over it folks. I saw this line up in Glasgow. They were fantastic, gave it their all and the crowd were on their feet. No band can duplicate the era when they were making it all up in their 20’s. I haven’t enjoyed a concert so much in years .. and they didn’t play a note from my favourite album .. Close to the Edge. 😀 The new singer did a great job with notoriously difficult vocal gymnastics.

I agree with all the rest of the comments. This is definitely NOT Yes ! Like others have said, this band should be touring as “ Steve Howe and Friends “ rather than Yes as they just don’t cut it. A band is something that grows naturally. You can't copy something like that, you can't do it with the Beatles, you can't do it with Queen and you can't do it with YES. If Keith Richard and other musicians tried to imitate the Stones, he too would fail. A rhythm section can be replaced like an engine in a car, the soul of a music group cannot be replaced.

@@nickolaskentala9583 Keith Richards' phrasing is so unique that no one can copy it. There are individual skills like Mick Jagger's voice that you can't copy. Do a test with AL and try to have Mick Jagger sing "Love Me Do" by the Beatles - it won't work! Artificial intelligence also has natural limits, just like all of us. I'm 74 years old and to this day I play all of my music live and with the first take. I never repeat myself and no one can copy me.

Technically, none of them are original members, Steve Howe is the second guitar player. There have been many variations and lineups through the decades, and at one point, there were 2 different versions going at the same time. Steve Howe is the definitive guitar player, though, and you could make the argument that "Owner of a Lonely Heart" wasn't Yes, either. Or anything with Alan White wasn't Yes. I listened to some of the new album, and it sounds like a Yes record to me,

The band by necessity has to evolve. Yes, Jon Anderson's vocals cannot be replaced, and the same with Chris Squire's bass and vocals - and I will always miss both Bruford and White, and the string of previous keyboardists - and damn it, Peter Banks was brilliant during the band's opening salvo! Trevor Rabin saved the band when things looked bleak... All that said, this new incarnation is what it is, and that is 21st Century YES. I do wish Billy would be higher in the mix both with his bass and his vocals, and maybe pick up the tempo on some songs, but I am not in the band and it is their decision. They still perform wonderfully and I will continue to listen, groove, and learn from their music. And if Steve and Jon were to reconcile at some point I would be pretty darn happy....!

Love Steve and any former YES member but w/out Jon singing lead, it’s not the same.

Pretty decent live performance. Steve looks like death but plays alive! Saw them in Long Beach, CA circa 1978, ten feet from the stage. Steve had his "guitar tree" back then too!

It sounds like a cover band for Yes.

Yes was (and I suppose is) my favorite band in an overall sense. But with no original members, Chris Squire in the grave (along with Alan), time to hang it up guys. Even though Howe can still really play, they sound like a good cover band which is in effect what they are.

Que gusto ver a Steve Howe y Geoff Downes todavia vigentes tocando en un escenario, son leyendas vivientes de lo mejor del rock de todos los tiempos.

In 1971 I went to a Black Sabbath concert in SF at Winterland. Yes was unknown and opened. They blew Ozzy and Tony away. This is NOT Yes. Good stuff even so.

One of the greatest guitarist that we've ever known, Steve Howe, playing in his eighties and you ppl diss him. You should be ashamed. He wrote all of yes's greatest music. Show respect. He doesn't have to continue making music, but he loves what he's doing. Better than jimmy Hendrix, better than Clapton, better than any other guitarist we've ever known. A purist when it comes to music. Go back and listen to anything any guitarist, music producer You've ever known. He is the standard.

Steve Howe and Geoff Downes are true YES. They contributed to the advancement of the music. All of these guys are great players but most 0f the music I've heard from them since after Trevor Rabin left has been a Steve Howe solo project. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Definitely not YES which was a magical gifted conglomeration of singular talents.
