Thought the same showed it to my Mum who is from 1947, Jon s from 1944..I was 14 when this song came out fav of mine for life..his voice and the guys playing so well is testament to real musicianship..nowadays not found anymore

Seem YES in Roosevelt stadium in Nj, they played the CLOSE TO THE EDGE 5Stars album a warm up to appearing at Madison Garden for the first time they played the Garden 25 times the most by any band. Fantastic show best one one of many concerts I been at.

Vocals sound awesome! How much want to bet he's not a smoker? So sad when great vocalists lose their range. See Geddy Lee. Chris Cornell lost a lot of clarity toward the end as well. Smoking is so bad on the vocal cords. I'm sure there are many others. I watched the video when The Cure got inducted into rock n roll HOF and OMG Robert Smith's vocals sound as great as ever. Perfect. Amazing.

Met Rick Wakeman once outside an Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe show. He was a super nice guy, stopped for autographs and spoke with his fans with genuine enthusiasm and gratitude. He's probably been approached by thousands of fans for decades and I'll never forget how kind he was to us as if it was the first time.

We saw him in a restaurant one lunchtime. He was constantly interrupted by people wanting to say hello and shake his hand. I'm sure his soup must have been cold by the time he finally got to eat it but it didn't stop him giving everyone a minute of personal attention! A real star!

Trevor Rabin is a phenomenal guitarist yet grossly underrated and many of Yes's commercial successes have been in collaboration with him. The guitar sound is soaring, clean and crisp and melodic and I would rate him amongst top 10-15 guitarists that I've heard in the last 30 years.

I've loved this song since its release, but one has to give respect to the keyboardist performing in his full wizard cloak. This is a bygone age that I wish we could reclaim. I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way. Bless the Apollo for giving these epic artists their due on this venerated stage.

A lot of older musicians who strain their voices lose their vocal strength. I think Anderson always kept within his vocal limits and so he's kept his voice.
The bassist also plays in ELO. He is an excellent musician, and he always has a great smile. Oh yeah, his name is Lee Pomeroy.

@@NicolasJohnElder no he didn't, but if you look at some of the old footage , the Bassist , whose Australian evidently, is a dead ringer for Lee or Lee is a dead ringer for him . I saw and jumped to conclusions so my bad cos they really do look alike.
