He was stunned when I sang Surfing the Alien and Satch Boogie in his ear at the same time Joe was playing it... But, as a singer, my former very high head voice was simply REALLY HORRIBLE, even according to black metal's "standards"🤣🤣🤣🤣 (which I do not condone! The good sides are : - my voice deepened and this was greatly appreciated by women... - I could already growl with a voice between Gene Simons and Lemmy, now I can really go lyrical with classical baryton voice and even a bit lower, e.g. a very good portion of Barry White, as long as he's not showing how low he can go on some rare occasions... Firstly, Yes is a great band and richly deserved this honor. The way they were treated by the nit-picking mainstream media for all these years was despicable. Secondly, Getty Lee in my opinion has risen to the pinnacle of bass playing. His bass lines are incredible. His signature riffs are unmistakable. The Hall of Fame jam proved just how great he is.

It was fantastic that they got Geddy Lee to do this. Before he passed, Squire had said that he wanted Geddy Lee to induct them when they were entered into the RRHF. Geddy fulfilled that wish, then stepped in for Squire during the performance. It was an immense show of respect for one of his foundational influences.

Some of the most talented musicians on the planet. I have had the opportunity of seeing Yes in its various guises many times over the years and every concert is engraved in my memory. The fact that they continue to play with such energy and attention to every detail after 50 years is astounding. Stever Howe has to be one of the finest guitar players of all time. Technical brilliance. Jon Anderson sings as well in his 70's as he did as a thirty something. Wakeman - what can you say - outstanding. Rabin slotted in like he had always been there playing alongside Howe. Geddy filled some very big boots and did so perfectly. And as ever, not a single beat missed by Mr White. My late partner treated me to Andersen, Rabin and Wakeman in Nottingham just a few months before cancer took her away. What a night but this tops it.

Saw this amazing band in Detroit, about 1977. Absolutely amazing experience. Somehow ended up down in the parking garage (?) area as they were just finishing up their encores... Three or four long white limos running, waiting to whisk the band away to safety. Ran up to the 1st or 2nd limo in the line... came face to face with Chris Squire... I was knock-knock-knocking on that window: "Roll down the window man! Roll down the window!!" He just turned, gave me a big grin, & a big thumbs up! The window didn't open, & the garage door did... And then they were gone. Yes has always been one of my all time favorite bands. Will never forget that experience. My brush with greatness!
