If you want to see live recordings of the real Yes live in 2024 then I suggest you check out Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks, they also have a new album out!

Ye gods... "Put the phones away!"... Steve at odds with the crowd again, I see. That killed the mood so bad even the singer lost the will to sing.

There's a few bands still playing now, that I can say I saw last century. This is one of them. We're creating new definitions of old.

Steve says “ put your phones away and get into the moment”. I see his point, but maybe the “ moment” of this limp performance isn’t worth getting into.

The applause is so soft😂Remember the Union Tour where every night the crowd would cheer after the instrumental section of Yours Is No Disgrace (the opening number) as if they just finished playing the encore? Note I said after the instrumental section, not the end of the song. Not even one song in and they got standing ovations like the show was over. And now look at this sad shadow…
@playlistmaker90125 Жыл бұрын
Honestly this performance isn’t TOO BAD (bad but not too bad) but even if it was good, and I still can’t stress this enough, it’s not Yes because Steve’s the only one left. They can sound just like they did in the 70s and it still wouldn’t be Yes. Because bottom line is, when you lose your core members, your band loses its identity. Even if they’re good, that doesn’t make them Yes. ARW was awesome imo but that wasn’t Yes either…

Change the singer, bring in Carl Palmer and you have Asia. Or something close anyway.

I’d love for Asia to continue. They still have hope, unlike Yes which is a dead horse that continues to be kicked, which is sad…
@Peter-vn6gl Жыл бұрын
@@playlistmaker90125 I have to agree. They've become a tribute band. And it is sad. Definitely time to speak with Carl, his latest "tour" bleeds nostalgia. Ugh! Asia would be great to revisit. But who could replace Wetton? They would be doomed to suffer the same fate as Yes.
@playlistmaker90125 Жыл бұрын
@@Peter-vn6gl they currently have Marc Bonilla on vocals and guitar and Billy Sherwood on bass. Only Time Will Tell (hopefully) how that lineup will sound…I think it would be cool for Geoff and Carl to team up with John Payne but John P doesn’t deserve it since he cashed out on the name with AFJP. Geoff won’t wanna work with him again and I don’t blame him…

The real Yes no longer exists. It’s long gone. Would the Beatles be the Beatles without John, Paul, George, or Ringo? Absolutely not, and you know it. Would King Crimson be King Crimson without Fripp? So it goes with Yes … no Jon or Chris, no Yes.

I've had enough of the vast majority of bands full stop. They expect us to pay way over the odds for tickets & ask us to wait up to 18 months for the performance. In Yes's case I did this expecting to hear Relayer & got Close the the Edge. Nothing wrong with the latter but I paid for a ticket to hear Relayer
