Finally, after many years of dissapointments in Yes' history (not musically but internal disagreements), this gave a brand new fresh start with the 70's favourite members, you can hear that they returned to their roots and sound great!
@newforestpixie529710 ай бұрын
Yes. i had given them up during 90125 , not merely due to the trendy hi production & poppery but being only 20 i was realising how ‘1970s music’ or prog was scaring girls away…. on being laid-up in 2010 my children dumped a computer on my lap & for the first time truly felt in the future because i had in front of me a list of albums since 1983 for a band i figured had long stopped breathing or composing & the retro future effect of seeing what they’d done since I’d last looked in 1984 was a very strange feeling - looking back at what I didn’t know was to follow. ! i love much of everything from Union to Fly From Here & this is as with lots from 1990 as wonderful as their 1969 to 1980 output. This is outstanding in my opinion. 😁👍🐢

Until recently I missed the song Machine Messiah, and the Drama album altogether lol. Machine Messiah is heavy, such a great jam. Even my friends who don't really like Yes who are metal heads liked that song.

The first three and a half minutes are extraordinarily beautiful. How I wish this could have been developed into a better song. I cannot listen to it beyoond that. I am glad for people who like it. But to compare this with The YES Album , Fragile, Close to the Edge, Relayer, or the Going For the One albums is just crazy.

1996/7 we use to listen to 'keys to ascension' On my home stereo with the Bose 902 (mounted, or suspended speakers by hanging the pair with chain / from the ceiling!!) Cranked loud! My neighbors never complained, the apartment/house was made of brick and real sheet rock! La madeleine islands - italy

Such a great album (as is KTA2). Another great Alan White track here. And Anderson's voice never sounded more clear; I mean, could a voice be any more perfect. Just so wonderful when they all come together, it is so amazing. Been a fan now for 48 years.

doesnt get better than Yes, from the sprawling prog of the 70s, the mighty pop of the 80s to the mixtures of epics and lighter pieces since the 90s, this band has it all. Everything you need out of music IMO. Looking forward to seeing Drama and Fragile live next month!

I remember buying this CD when it first came out and was so happy to find a studio cut that returned to the classic Yes style, all those layers of harmony and melody wound round intricate musical deviations that made Yes music so unique, the blending of hard rock, jazz and pop, it will be a sad day when this group finally hangs up its instruments a sad day indeed

This is my favorite obscure YES song. I would love to hear it live. Sometime I think the song had a perfect ending and emotional release if it had faded out at 15:30 after Jon's vocals, not that I'm really complaining.

I've added a comment before It IS the best Yes Intro of all time It's reminiscent of the intro to "And You and I" But we musn't loose sight That track was recorded in 1972 Technology was in it's infancy then This is probably 6 different songs put together (or different ideas) To form one Production is brilliant

I mean What band could start a track with harmonised Spanish Acoustic Guitars in slow emotive chords Progress into pysecedelia type music which is played backwards (A method used by The Beatles aka Tomorrow Never Knows) Meanwhile great voice singing vocals about women who are drug addicts Tempo change to gentle Bass complex harmonised voices (That talk is just a worry in a man) Then lead vocals above harmony Rock section Back into gentle movement culminating in vocals "How did Heaven Begin" etc Ending on further upbeat Only "YES" could do that If any music student wishes to learn Progressive Rock First play this Then go back in time and play Close To The Edge Job (nearly) Done!!!!

Sonidos tribales esenciales, dentro del sonido de una de las bandas más progresivas de la historia, extraño pero agradable, distinto pero agradable .
