Ugh i was just in Siagon and I didn't know you did food tours, I'm so upset! These are my favorite videos to watch, I Love these types of videos, I get to see you driving around, great foods, and you go over what you are thinking, just love these, can't wait for the next episode. I just left Siagon, and before I left I went to your fav Bun Bo Hue place, and it was so gooooood! I mentioned to the staff I saw him in a video, they close at 2-3 so I got there right at 1:50, traffic was crazy from the airport. I flew in from Nha Trang and went directly there after landing, only had a few hours before I left back to USA.

7:06 "bạn muốn dùng loại nào?" he meant which one would u like to eat, but he used "dùng" which mostly understand as "use", it's a polite way to address an action of choosing between 2 things. Anyway, "dùng" is more commonly used in the North of Vietnam. Edit 1: a bit later in vid, u asked about pickle for the chicken sandwich, it's gonna be tough to look for one with it in Vietnam, we don't grow up with it in the sandwich (Vietnamese version), because our sandwich/burger is just letuce, tomato, sauce, and meat of choice.

lol you do know its the exact same bún đậu A Chảnh he recommended you right, just different location 🤣 You should try bánh cuốn Xuân Hường. Hanoi style bánh cuốn and the only place that does it authentic in HCMC imo. Try their normal and their egg bánh cuốn, *ask for the egg rare (trứng tái)* Its by the airport very far from D7 but you must try if you're ever in the area.

As a big fan of Bún đậu and pretty much eat at every big franchise restaurant selling these, I recommend the place just a few hundreds meters away on the same street. It’s called Bún Đậu Hẻm Đậu. The front is smaller so it might be harder to spot than A Chảnh. But the ingredient like bún and rau sống is much fresher and the fries stuff is much tastier. Just make sure you order the mix 120k/ portion to try all the stuffs (it really large portion so go with an empty stomach or another person 😂)

đậu is pronounced doh (Like Homer would say) in the north. bún đậu mắm tôm is pretty common on the street from small sellers in Hanoi. There was one next to a cafe I used to get coffee at, and on a windy day the smell was overpowering. I can't touch mắm tôm, it's just too stinky for my mild western tastes :)

Today im gonna teach you a trick that I made up myself when you eat bún chả. When you pick the leaf and some bún up, it tent to fall out of you chopsticks, so the way when i want to eat bún and leaf together, I let the leaf sit in a side, then pick the bún first, dip ít in the mắm tôm like you dip in the clue, the put the bún on top of a leaf, it work at an adhesive to stick the leaf to the bún. So now you can control the amount of mắm tôm, also the leaf wont fall out when you grab them. Try it.
