I can't even say how much you've helped me with these videos! I'm studying Japanese at university, but I had lost interest due to the tricky grammar. No teacher has ever explained in such an easy and understandble way! Now I think I gained some confidence and will to study!

Great lessons. I would actually prefer more of these longer, in-depth videos over the 5 minute ones. This lesson does seem to be much higher level than the usual, which I think is great. Keep up the good work.

This is one of the best Japanese lessons I've watched in a long time. I mean it. Finally someone who's not afraid of teaching grammar instead of the usual "Where is the bathroom? I'm looking to book a hotel room for 2." ready-made tourist garbage.

Fantastic lesson. Why do other teachers never point out the tiny quirks and similarities in grammar so imperative to understand. Super lesson. Thanks so much for posting it. You will save so many people hours of frustration and study with such a clear and focuses lesson. Really can't thank you enough.
I've been studying this form for so long, and yet nobody has teached me that this よう comes from 用. That simple detail was the key to finally comprehend this form. This and those awesome examples made the whole difference! Thank you! Thank you so very much! Btw, my answer to the challenge "My cat now sleeps on a dog's bed, just like a dog."

"My house cat has started to sleep on a dog bed just like a dog." The "my" is implied, I think. ようになりました sometimes translates a little awkwardly into English: "I came to" or "I became able to" (with a potential verb). I think we usually use phrases like "I've started to" or "now I can." The みたい has nothing to do with 見る, nor is it a -tai verb (this would be "I want to see"). It's more like "resembles" which in this case would translate as "resembling a dog" or more naturally, "just like a dog." This is the same as のように, which was discussed in the video. Excellent video, thank you for the explanation of ~用, I wasn't familiar with that.
