Sorry George-san, I think there is an inconsistency here. At the beginning you mentioned that "Kore" is a topic and at 18:45 you said "Ringo" is the topic. I am assuming anything after the "wa" IS the topic, not the ko-so-are-do. Is my understanding correct?

Everything before the WA particle is normally the topic or part of it. Everything after it is a statement or question about the topic.

Love the books! I’ve been living in Japan for two years now teaching English, and slowly learning Japanese using your books and videos along with immersion. I’ve been trying to use various apps to help me practice but it really makes me wish you had an app to go along with the books so it would be a bit easier to practice vocabulary 😅
