@@afdkj Technically yes and no. Physically speaking Lance won the races first. He crossed the finish line first. But because it was later revealed he was doping they essentially disqualified him because he was cheating and as a result no longer officially recognize him as the winner. NCAA and Olympics, similar incidents have occured. Teams and athletes still "won" technically speaking, but due to various incidents, cheating or othwerwise the organization/committee etc etc have the power to strip said teams/atheletes from being recognized as such. The same needs to happen here. The Astros cheated their way to a World Series Championship. They don't deserve to be recognized as such. Strip the title.

And now Manfred says he'll punish pitchers who throw at them but not the Astros themselves? What kinda bullshit is that??? He basically is protecting them at that point. A $5mil fine is nothing to Jim Crane. Hinch and Luhnow got only a 1 year suspension. Both could potentially end up with jobs in MLB in the future. Perhaps not in the same roles but in some capacity. For Manfred to not strip the title or punish any player, this is basically him saying to every ballplayer at any level, "it's ok to cheat. Just don't get caught" These guys are professional ballplayers. They're the ones who should be setting an example to everyone else. From college to high school to little league. A major league baseball organization stole a championship by cheating and there's hardly any punishment given for it. As per Altuve's recent interview: The guy has nooooooo tattoos prior to this one he supposedly got mid season. Carlos said he got a bad tattoo on his collar bone that was not finished. Jose says here he got it mid season in San Fran......So in October his tattoo was not finished. He also says it took 2 sessions do. To get an incomplete tattoo? While you're on the road away and not just wait til the offseason? The collar bone area moves alot and how can you get a tattoo in that area while you're playing everyday in baseball. Vacating the title is what should have been done. I don't want to hear about precedent. Just because it has never been done doesn't mean it should not have been done. Sometimes you have to set a new precedent. I am of the belief that this was one of those times. I think most people would have been satisfied with that. If you gave the players immunity this would have been a great way to make them feel the pain. Then we would have seen some remorse on their faces.

Players/personnel on this years roster who were not part of the cheating would be getting punished while guys who are no longer on the team would still be getting nothing. Just remember that any major punishment handed to the players would almost certainly be appealed by the union and could end up in courts or arbitration for months if not years. He just wants this to be forgotten but underestimated the blow back.

Life long born and bred Red Sox fan here. I was 7 years old when I watched *ucky Dent hit that Home Run in game 163 of the 1978 season. My 2nd favorite team has always been "whoever is playing the Yankees." That has now changed. My 2nd favorite team is now "whoever is playing the Astros." And that isn't solely because they cheated and haven't really "come clean". It is also because I am disgusted at my own team and Alex Cora and the 2018 championship seems highly tainted and undeserved at this point. And that really hurts as it was such an exciting postseason for Red Sox fans just because of some of the stories like Eovaldi and Pearce coming up big. When the strike happened, I remained a fan. When PEDs became prevalent and known, I remained a fan. This whole thing is different. This tainted the integrity of the entire league, both through the actions of the players, coaches and managers, and due to the inadequate investigation that led to insignificant consequences for the cheaters by Manfred. Its going to take the MLB and the Red Sox some work and time to get me back to caring about them as much as I have tended to my whole life. From a disgruntled Red Sox fan to the Yankees I say, good luck and I sincerely wish you the best, if only for this season.

Everyone seems to forget that in 2017 when Altuve won the MVP, that his numbers benefited from the cheating still. He had more guys on base that should not have been, that ultimately bumped up his numbers. So his runs and RBIs would be lower if he and his team mates did not cheat.
