Today we're trying on a bunch of INSANE prom dresses from YesStyle! We try on a variety of different dresses, with different cuts to suit all sorts of body shapes and sizes. Most of these dresses are available in a size XS through to a size XXXL. I found them to be fairly true to size, however I don't think it would hurt to size up slightly. I was gifted these prom dresses, but this video is not sponsored. All opinions are my own (and I’m beyond happy with some of the dresses in this video!!). I find it very telling that they don't put in an entire bodice under the sheer tulle, only just two bra pads.

To be fair, high end dresses do that too, they just use different bra cups and they tend to be hidden better

I think they steal images from other companies and remake them. I only use their app for Korean beauty products which is amazing in my opinion. Their beauty products are up to par. Clothes though...not really

Be careful-- edressit looks like yet another storefront cover for likely the same knockoff stuff to me, like dresslilly, zaful, wish, etc. Many reviews on trustpilot are complaining of the same stuff that this video mentions--doesn't look like the photo, less/different lace than the photo, cheap fabric, loose threads, poor sizing, long turnaround and terrible return procedures, etc. I wonder if the dresses are available on aliexpress or something and that's where all these places are getting their stock from.

The obviously stolen photos on Wish and its ilk are often modified with filters, blur effects, photoshopped cutouts from other photos, cropping out heads/watermarks, adding text, etc which makes it hard to reverse image search, and many are likely from catalogs where the designer may not even be mentioned. Add that to the fact that small designers don't aggressively market their stuff (why would you if you only make a handful of each design, or customise bespoke items from customer to customer?) so unless you already follow someone on social media, you'll likely never see their work. I also wonder whether some of the companies making slightly better copycat products might actually be buying and photographing the Real Thing and then making/selling the cut-corner version. There have been various hashtags used by artists/fans/customers frustrated by copyright infringement/copycat/knockoff/counterfeit products over the last few years, so a good place to start might actually be to look at those hashtahlgs or see if you can find and ask a callout group to see if anyone has called out a piece you're interested in. :/

bsidethebox, you are correct. I know of at least one designer, Daniela Tabois, who found one of her designs and the photo she published of herself wearing the original design, on one of these "knock-off" sites. They altered the design ever so slightly, and used a much cheaper, nasty looking, fabric. The photo was't changed in any way, they didn't even try to photo-shop her out of the image. She is extremely angry and upset, rightly so. Last I heard, I think she was taking legal action. I know some of us use these sites for economic reasons, and that's fine, I just wish they would be honest about the source of the designs they use. If they said something like - "inspired by XXXXX designs" then I'm sure we would still buy from them, but at least there would be some transparency. I know if it were my work being ripped off, I would be mightily pissed. Intellectual Property theft has become a big problem, and people are losing their livelihoods because of it....sorry, I'll get down off my soap-box now :]

It's sad because it's not really hard to make your own designs when it comes to a cheap ish fluffy ball gown dress. Like the biggest variations are the sleeves, back and neckline. They could just make and photograph their own dang dress and it would harm designers so much less

On YesStyle you should always buy clothes that are on korean models or on hangers in the photos. Never buy the clothes that have models that are not korean cause then you know its a recreation. 🙂
