What is the difference between Promotion Subscribers and Actual Subscribers on the video in the analytics. On your 19k Video you got 2,810 Promotion Subscribers. In the Analytics you got 120 subscribers. Is youtube adding fake private accounts??? It would certainly appear so. Probably in attempt to remove them later to get people to spend more money. I also think they assign security bots after you start using this. I would suggest to anyone to only use this inside the country you live.

This was super interesting. Thank you so much for sharing this, Marina. There is one point you did not mention I believe plays into this. When you create an ad for a specific video and that video was watched - even for 30 seconds, future videos should now start landing on that person's home page. So for example, that next video (that may not necessarily have landed on that home page, if you did not run a previous ad) could be the one that becomes a follower.

I was using the promotions beta and having good results. Then for no apparent reason my ads are said to be breaking the policy on "political ads in Argentina". A lot of people seem to have a similar issue. My ads/videos are not political in any way (tennis related) and I didn't pick Argentina to target with the ads. Not sure how to sort this. I have raised a case with Google.

So I’ve tried it, but they somehow overcame my budget by such amounts that I got scared and paused the promotion (there was no way to cancel it), and I’m still afraid they’re gonna charge me those ridiculous amounts. That’s great! Think strategy. Turn them into being in your list. Did you know there are many many ways to generate traffic. I thought not but hint: every time I come across a method I write up the method and I give it a name entitled in a ebook. I just found a new method there is a website where everyone exchange points for services. The service is like going to a Twitter page or looking at a video and you can earn real money. This person demonstrated how the method works so I documented the process. Four steps. Just accumulate points and exchange them for a digital process. Ie get more eyeball on a video go look at video and accumulate points and use them in exchange to folks looking at your stuff.

We used YT Promotion Beta as a test, results were really good, gained over 500 subscribers with a A$75 budget, but they never came back to view any of the other videos on our channel. Not recommended, as you are better off, just to accept the YT's organic push with impressions (checking via Reach tab), no matter how low the numbers look - that gains real views and retention as long as video is a nice one. YT can remove the concept of "Subscribers", just "Impression and View" based system will make the system fairer, as wrongly gained subscribers via YT promotion Beta is a "killer issue" for a small channel.

I wanted to give an update. I tried it, and wish I hadn't. I carefully selected the countries that have the highest RPM, Scandinavian countries and also the US. While promotions bumped my subs from 60 something members to over 100 in a few days,(and yes, the watching hours went up too but not by a huge margin), the new subs are like ghosts, they don't contribute anything. The two vids I promoted flat-lined and haven't recovered since. Those videos are completely dead since weeks now. So it looks like YT wants you to keep spending in order to get views, but as soon as you stop, that's when your videos will flatline. In addition to this, my overall views declined as well. I used to get a few more views before the promotions, and now when I upload a new video it barely gets any views. So to those who want to try it, be careful. Try it on videos or a channel you're willing to sacrifice, because in my opinion it's not worth it and it even seems like a scam.
