In this video I will be doing a review of the YesWelder DP200 Double Pulse mig welding machine. I cover unboxing and machine parts. Then I go through the connections of the welding leads, gas hookup and power.
Also covered is installing and spooling wire and drive wheel installation and graphene liner installation for aluminum wire welding. Then we cover startup, go over all of the functions on the menu screen and do several welding tests, including carbon steel mig welding, flux core welding and aluminum welding. Finally, I go over the likes and dislikes along with recommendations for where this machine might be used best.

What does it say the input amps are for 110/220? I sometimes use my machines on 110 and notice some of Yeswelders have a hug draw from the 110 outlet like 46amps or even 50amps!
@TonySeverioKnives
@TonySeverioKnives 4 ай бұрын
@jeffkohler21 I didn’t get any paperwork with it but a 110 circuit should be protected by a 15-20 amp breaker. My other YesWelder machine is 15 amps on 110. Hopefully they will update the site with spec info including duty cycle.

@@TonySeverioKnives in the video I looked a little closer and looks like either 35amp or 39amps from a 110 outlet. But also any work area should have a 20amp breaker minimum. The 15amp is honestly way too under rated and outdated. 15amps works OK for internal home use for like a tv,vacuum, lamps

I don’t know for sure since I didn’t get any paperwork but I read somewhere that was posted by a user that it was 25% at 200 amps. But I can’t verify that. I’m hoping they will update the site info soon. I’ll post here when I find out for sure.

In case you haven’t already figured it out, you always push when welding aluminum. I have to ask, what kind of gas are you using. Typically you need to use C10 when pulse welding steel. Always use straight argon when welding aluminum. Nice review by the way. I am excited to try this machine. I have a miller multimatic 255 with a push-pull and can’t wait to see how the DP200 compares.

12:26 hmmm that's a lot of spatter... pulse MIG is basically modulated spray transfer, so you shouldn't really have spatter at all... perhaps a lower wire speed?

Is it that or should it be 90/10 gas? Pulsed someone said the only option is 90/10 in settings? I'll have to look when I get back home but was about to order c25 and now wonder if I should get c10 instead if using pulsed and dual pulse. If you have pulse idk why you'd need regular in most situations the pulse will give better looking welds with similar penetration with proper prep

Unfortunately when you set it up there didn't seem a way to adjust the pulse width on the pulse settings. Mine i'm able to adjust pulse width and percentage of down slope. I was hoping this machine was able to do that.

I didn’t try anything below 1/8 aluminum since I didn’t have any so I’m not sure. I didn’t get any paperwork with the machine so I am literally testing as I go. It will take .045 aluminum wire and a .045 roller for aluminum comes with it. I’m going to get a roll of .045 aluminum wire and try it out. I’ll post and findings in the pinned comment above, good or bad.

You could probably make a full video on this but... thank you in advance sir Ive heard they didnt send yall any paperwork for details but does it look like you can use more than a 2lb reel? do you think standard parts would fit into this machines mig wand (contact tips where the wire comes out)? Answer: yes 12:30 What do you think our options would be as for service? Ive got $6k machine from miller that got to us absolutely junked (internal electrical boards were busted)...

Great video, thanks for sharing. Do you think one of the lower priced welder/plasma cutter combos would be handy to a hobbyist? Do you see a plasma cutter replacing the bandsaw. One last question, what grinder were you using a few months ago in your Japanese chef knives video? Thanks again for all the great videos!
@TonySeverioKnives
@TonySeverioKnives 5 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yes cheaper machines have their place. I have a stand alone plasma cutter also. But I don’t see it replacing a bandsaw. I use a bandsaw for a lot of tasks that the plasma cutter wouldn’t be choice for. For me the bandsaw will do more clean cutting with no heat affected issues and less cleanup. Plasma for more rough cutting jobs. The 2x72 grinders I use are old Bader grinders. One I bought new about 30 years ago. 🙂

@@TonySeverioKnives If you can, run the machine on 120V. I know most of us are DIY'ers and don't have access to 240V. I'm curious how it handles the thicker stuff on 120V

@nickvang9097 my other YesWelder machine will do ok with 1/8 material on 110 volts and I wouldn’t expect this one to be any different. You’re basically cutting the amperage in half. I’ll try it when I use it again and post here but I’m pretty sure 1/8 to 3/16 at most on 110 volts.

Im running it on a 30 amp circuit but I have a 50 there too if I need it. I didn’t look at the cable size but #10 is good for 30 and #6 for 50. I didn’t get any paperwork with the machine to determine max amp circuit feed. I hope they have something available soon so I will know for sure. So I went with the 30 until I know for sure.
