If memory serves the TD and 200tdi have same position mounts but 300tdis were different. Hence why you need a stubby bellhousing r380 on a 200tdi as engine is further back. Oh and the genuine tdi stickers on the body as well seems like too much effort to be fake That is a bodge tastic defender though, bet there are some fretted splines in every shaft , oi-lless worn cvs and more clanks and bangs than you can shake a stick at😂 Will be a good video series though haha

I can't even laugh at this really cos it just boils my piss that somebody is hoovering up used Defenders (for peanuts) that *would* make decent projects for enthusiasts and then selling them for inflated prices. It's a crying shame that a local agent, in Africa, couldn't cut these chancers out of the process but the trouble is that NGOs and corporations want to sell entire fleets, all at the same time, rather than selling individual vehicles which means any buyer has to have enough cash to buy in bulk to get into the game. Are these vehicles sold sight-unseen, though? Surely, if there's a yard full of them in Montreal, it'd be worth sticking somebody like Mike on a train to Montreal to pick a good one? A buyer could pay $1,000 for a professional inspection and *still* save ten-times that amount in repair costs.
@BritannicaRestorations4 жыл бұрын
I did suggest this service- 'Save $19,000 on a used Defender'! Pay me $1,000 to have a look and tell you not to buy the $20,000 liability! As with all of these 'rust free' African vehicles, they have had a hard life and been poorly maintained We sell old vehicles to Africa- not buy them back
@raymondallo99474 жыл бұрын
@@BritannicaRestorations IN Australia we do pre-purchase inspections. About $250. Worth every cent. $1000 for an inspection is a lot unless that covers some expensive travel cost and a whole day away. But in their case I would spend it as import cars are tricky.

The arsonist land rover supplier should be put in jail for allowing that to go out. They should be reported to the authorities..... Mind you like you say.... They keep you busy and in tea bags. I doubt you are looking forward to working on that pile of junk though. Surely, in the long run, these buyers would be better off to look to Spain and ship over a decent vehicle. In order for the car to get on the road on Quebec it has to pass vehicle safety for the province and meet Canadian 'standards' (daytime running lights etc) so details have to be added into the national computer to say it conforms and the the vehicle can be registered at the licencing office - there is quite a paper trial - so no inspection, no licence IF, however the vehicle has been already licenced, but has passed by 1 day the expiration date of the road licence, it has too be inspected - there is no annual inspection here - so many go to the local dealer, 'sell them' the car for $120 and then buy it back with a clean licence = a registered dealer can jump the inspection stage it is a joke!
