Lee should pay you big money for this video series. There's no way I would want to deal with all its mechanical shortfalls out of the box. Another "home run" of a video Sir!

I love the spring additions to the case keepers. The Lee design for the case keeper tabs on the ABLP/4000 is one of the main reasons I barely use my Auto Breech Lock Pro these days. If there was ever some kind of show stopper in the loading process, like a missing primer or something, it is such a pain in the neck to be able to resolve a problem and restart the process of reloading, because of the screw-down case keeper tabs. I finally moved to a Hornady LNL after a couple years of those case keeping tabs. (That and the plastic carrier getting dented from a jammed case are the big flaws of that press in my experience and opinion). Anyway, I still do use the ABPL for 32 ACP and 40S&W, so I’ll follow your lead on the DIY spring solution. I have a TON of Lee products and I sang their praises for years. Unfortunately I lost a lot of faith in them after heavily using the ABLP, but just about everything else from Lee has been really good. But that’s why I have not purchased the Six Pack. Thanks for the video!

I agree...I have (had) seven LEE 1000 Pro reloaders. Great little press but only 3 stations. I bought a LEE 4000.... Oh My, this thing was designed by the devil himself. Horrible design....I sold it off after just a couple weeks of trying to get it to work. Easily the worlds worse priming system! I wrote LEE a whole letter about it. The 6000 is so much different and every single aspect is improved beyond the 4000......Like I said, I bought two of them and will be replacing a couple more of my LEE 1000s over the next few months.

@@roybertalotto6355 “Designed by the devil himself”, hahaha! You are so right!! I truly wish I gave up on that ABLP early on like you did! As I said, I still use it for a couple calibers, but I prime all the brass beforehand. I no longer use a case feeder with that press, either. It is faster than my turret press, but certainly not what one would expect from a progressive. But it’s okay for calibers that I don’t shoot a ton of if I don’t want to set up dies and all over again on my Hornady LNL AP, and buy new shell plates, etc. Thanks for the feedback on the 6000, too, coming from my same perspective about the 4000. As I said, after all the praising that I have done for Lee over the years, Lee lost a lot of credibility with me after that mess of a press. The 6000 does seem like the answer to a lot of pissed off 4000 owners’ complaints. Good for you writing to them. Thanks for the reply!

Great video. I'm very impressed with your modifications your a true craftsman. Your dictation is clear and well directed. I've had mine since last January and have had quite a few issues with it. Some tuff and others were dealt with some updated parts from Lee who have been pretty helpful in replacing, upgrades and general parts. This is the first of your videos that I've watched and I had to enable notifications for your clips cause I typically don't do that. Jerrbear tactical introduced me to a better wrench to use to lock and release the dies in place. The little plastic wrench they provide is so sad and inadequate. I'll leave it there no sence raging about it. Jerrbear had it on line first that I saw and I'm a big fan of utube DIY. I've been looking for clips on the 6 Pac since before I got mine. I have posted clips under MrWolf (there no comparison to your's). I've been working on another clip about reloading 223's and that nightmare. It's about the depriming and the sizing station. The tec support guy at Lee refused to believe me about the case not being fully seated into the shell plate carrier (3 stuck cases, using 3 different case lubes, and of course cleaning the die after getting the case out. Lee told me not there problem because none of the lubes were theirs) On mine the case is only held in place on each side not all the way around the back. I hope to get it edited and on soon. Anyway, great clip. Thank you for the very informative information.

Thanks for the kind words! I've not loaded 223, but I can see where you are coming from. Try Hornady One-Shot case lube. Works great if used as indicated on the can. Good luck, I'll check out your youtubes.

@roybertalotto6355 Well, yes, the Hornady one shot was the first that I tried. It was the first time I used it, and to be fair, I did let the case sit overnight before I ran them. I did try it again on a single stage press and it did work well. Next I tried RCBS spray last the old standby RCBS lube on a pad. I don't think it matters sizing a case with only two little points of the case rim holding it in the ram it's going to get stuck. Thank you for your response.

Hi, my case feeder doesn’t push my cases all the way into the seat. I have to give them a little extra push to get them in all the way. Any ideas how I can fix that? I’m loading 6.5 creedmoor.

Mine has the same issue, seems like theres too much friction in the case slider assembly. It has caused me to ruin a spring, now I have a CF tube inside the replacement. But it still fails to push the case the last 1/4" into the case plate every couple cases. Very frustrating, this is the thing keeping my SPP from running smooth. I should mention this is with .556/.300blk but IIRC it did it with .45acp too. Those are the only three calibers I have ran through it. Hoping someone knows a fix.

Hi, I'm just starting to get into reloading and looking for my first press. Wanting to reload 9mm,.223, and 6.5Grendel. I was looking at the 6000 since I could potentially remove the indexing rod and use this as a single/turret at first, and then as a progressive as I learn more. I read your note about loading the .223 on the press and hoped to get some feedback. The rounds I am most interested in loading are the rifle rounds. How do you like using it for your .223 rounds. Would you recommend it? What is your workflow? how do you use the press?

@@craigbrown1854 hi I reload 223 on the Lee 6000 and it works great . I also have the loadmaster for 9mm and did 223 on it to . There are better presses out the but for the money the 6000 is a great press. I don’t setup a case feeder and bullet feeder . The last time I reloaded I put out 400 rounds in 45 minutes . I’m also looking to get another 6000 for 45Acp
