The amount of work and precision that went in to this build is astonishing. It really makes me appreciate the amount of work that probably took place when apple decided to make their iMac a lot smaller than it original was when everyone in the computer industry was still building tower pc's. Thank you so much for sharing this.

You should look at getting some grease for when you're tapping the holes(if nothing else wd40) , it probably won't help you make the threads or anything but will make the tap bit last far longer as it will get dull very quickly without lubricant especially if you're tapping using a drill.

Hey, not sure why you started with the large bit then went with the small one for the acrylic hole pockets. For drill bits, you can actually think of the process like a pilot hole, and drill the small hole first, then the large one, this way your hole location is more precise because your bit won't walk on you. Now if you were using something like a spade bit (which doesn't self center in a hole smaller than it, but larger than the spike in the middle) then definitely drill with the paddle bit first, otherwise if it's classic fluted drill bits it's usually better to go small , then big. Just my 2 cents.
@YetAnotherTechChannel6 жыл бұрын
I used wood drilling bits, which are a bit like spade bits - they have a spike in the middle - that's why I drilled with the bigger one first :)

Looks great! I would recommend spray paint from the start instead of as a touch up. Love your work!
@YetAnotherTechChannel6 жыл бұрын
If I had a paint booth, I'd probably do that. Since I don't have conditions to spray-paint properly - lay primer followed by a few coats of paint - I spray painted things 'just enough'... and they would scratch easily - even during the assembly. That's why I prefer to apply a thick layer of paint and then finish it off with the spray paint.

Build looks amazing. Exactly what I was looking to do as well. Glad to see that someone made it work. 1 question, I see the power connector but can you explain the PSU? Thank you.
@YetAnotherTechChannel5 жыл бұрын
It's the HDPlex nano ATX power supply - www.hdplex.com/ The part that goes into the case is really small - you can see me mounting it at 9:17. The rest is a laptop power brick - a quite large, 330W unit that you connect to the HDPlex PSU.

Only thing bothers me is that the sound controller stands at the back of the monitor. If you did the monitor stand a bit longer that would be perfect I guess. Other than that it is great.
@YetAnotherTechChannel6 жыл бұрын
Taking that monitor off the wall hanger and putting it back on is PITA, so I just eyeballed where the VESA mounting points are and yeah, it did come out a bit too low, but there is still room on the monitor stand to raise it 4 - 6 cm. Anyways, in case you missed it - I won't be using this computer, so it doesn't bother me at all.

That is such a goregous PC case! You make some incredible and inventive builds! Would you be willing to sell something similar to this? I would be willing to pay for shipping if the case comes with an HDPlex power supply (300 watts would be enough for me) and a non vesa mount. I know that the vesa mount is the intended purpose of the build but with a translucent acrylic side panel it could look fantastic as a standalone case not just an all in one. It wouldn't be that hard to make feet for the case. Out of curiosity, does the HDplex 300 require an external power brick to run?

A potrzebowałem taniego i w miarę przyzwoitego sprzętu do CAD-a i do grania. Takie to studenckie realia :) P.S. Nie chodzi mi o "problemy", to dla mnie wysoce niecodzienny widok :) Chyba że to ja jestem zbyt konserwatywny, co ja tam wiem :D Życzę długiego i szczęśliwego wspólnego życia i radości z pociechy :)
