Thank you for this great review. I want to strongly +1 the positive sentiment in this review re upgrading the sb130 to a lunch ride. I'm an aggressive rider and have appreciated the additional bite from the brakes, Assegai 2.5" on the front is game changer, and 2.4" DHR II on the rear. The additional travel on this bike is remarkable. The techy climbing is better, stronger cornering, more playful jumping, while expanding confidence at very high speeds. I had the brakes and tires upgrades ahead of suspension and after watching this review I decided to go 160/137 when suspension was being worked on. Thank you again!

Nice upgrade ..... 🤘. I upgraded my forks from Rockshock 140 mm to (2nd hand) Fox 36's 160 mm and it changed the bike instantly for the better ..... better at jumping ... better (smoother) at fast chunk

Thanks for a great review. I’m researching for a new ride that will meet my riding style and I’m hung up on the Yeti SB130 lunch ride, Specialized regular Stumpy and the Norco Optic. So this was a great review. Thanks

Said it before....I really want to ride the trails there. I wasn't a huge fan of rowdy/technical trails with my old bike. With the new bike, they are really fun now! Glad you got your new ride set up the way you like it. If I could afford it, I would put a coil shock on my bike.
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
Staying Active R A Warrior it’s fun to find the sweet spot . I’ve ridden a couple bikes with coil and really liked it .. but not a yeti
@chameleonpogono4 жыл бұрын
@@RidingMyBestLife One of the bikes I rode with a coil was a Yeti. It was a SB165. Good descending bike, but a lot of bike to climb. Other one was a Transition Patrol. Very awesome bike. Almost bought that one.

You missed one of the most fun drops on cairnage. If you continue to the right instead of merging onto kiln it there is a new ending to cairnage that takes you to a nice drop and off the hill much quicker.

Awesome video. I just did the mod to my rear shock and cut the spacer out to make it a lunch ride. Did you also mod the front for or did you leave it alone at 150mm? I have a Fox Performance fork with 150mm travel. I didn't know if people were just modding the rear shock or also the fork. I see you can buy a air shaft assembly to increase front travel. Or do you have to change the whole damper?
@RidingMyBestLife2 жыл бұрын
I also changed the air spring to 160 up front . . And I upgraded to bigger brake rotors. Love this bike .. side note cracked this frame somehow Yeti replaced with newer one 2021 brick red .
@Brain_3D2 жыл бұрын
@@RidingMyBestLife awesome. I will order a air spring. So the damper has nothing to do with it right? Travel is only on the air spring side ? Shitty the frame broke but hey, a new frame is always good. My whole bike is color matches with accessories. So if I broke a frame I would have to redo my whole color scheme lol

@@Brain_3D correct , some call it the air shaft assembly . It was pretty easy to switch out . I’m sure I watched a couple KZbin how to edits .

Great video Jason. Does the LR go to a coil shock? Wondering what the upgrades are.
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
No it’s a spacer clip on the rear DPX 2 and an air spring upgrade up front .

I ride a 2020 SB130 LR. Did you just cut the spacer out of the rear shock? My LR has 160mm travel in front.
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
Clipped the spacer and went 160 up front .. adding 203 rotors to complete the experience ..

Thanks for the great video. I have a standard C2 130 and thinking about doing the same thing. I already purchased the Cascade link. What are your thoughts on doing both? Cut the spacer, 160mm air spring, and Cascade link?
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
I think I would just start with the cascade link .. then ride it for a while and if you are wanting more then clip later .. can’t uncut the clip 👊🏻
@DrFeelgood134 жыл бұрын
@@RidingMyBestLife That's good advice, I'll hold off on doing anything with the rear shock for now. What are your thoughts on the front 160mm air shock change though with the Cascade? I think I'll like that extra 10mm up front. Any potential negatives there?
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
@@DrFeelgood13 love the extra 10 .. it made all the difference , I was worried about the geometry change for climbing and it’s so marginal that you won’t notice it .. and thanks for watching my video .. trying to grow this channel and having fun doing it 👊🏻
@davidlopezsalas93344 жыл бұрын
So then if i get the regular sb 130 I'll be able to switch it to LR whenever i want just with the clip on the shock and the spring on the fork? Thanks
@RidingMyBestLife4 жыл бұрын
Yep .. option 2 buy a cascade link .. it gives a little more travel in the rear .. also a true LR has bigger brakes ..like 205 for more stopping power .. but I did the clip of the spacer and upgraded air spring and it worked great

How was your climbing affected? I’m waiting on my yeti, still debating whether to turn it into lr.

Watched some KZbin videos .. bought 160 mm air spring replacement on and the necessary replacement oil on back country .. and rebuilt the front fork .. then opened up my DPX 2 rear shock and clipped the spacer .. and that’s all it took ... the most expensive option would be to buy cascade link but the spacer clip worked ..
