You’re right. There is more to hunting than the kill. I try to plan all my hunts around my dad. Trying to spend as much time as I can with him while he can still hike around.

Had to watch it again lol. Getten pumped to go elk hunting. My wife don't like the thick stuff either. She likes the big timber with little undergrowth

How long ( generally ) can you keep a fire going in that stove? Do you have to reload it a couple tx through the night?
@tjmuhl45123 жыл бұрын
@@doublelunger1978 I havent used that one specifically but you do typically have to stoke it once or twice through the night. depends a lot on what kind of wood you are using but typically you will need to top it up every 4-6 hours.
@DMOUA_OUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
It really depends how hot you want the tipi to be. From my experience this season with this size stove topping it off every 2 hours is a must if you want to keep the heat going. When I'm in there by myself I'll let it go for much longer before I add more wood but when I have my wife with me I make sure it's burning hot majority of the night.

I heard my first bugle this year on August 22, way down out of the marble ck drainage. That's quite early if you as me. It was for sure from an elk because the bugle came from a thick roadless basin that has very difficult access

The elk are bugling. Just need to find the right one that wants to fight.

Normal like I always record things. You’re probably just hearing things that are happening in the background but not seen on screen ie wood cracking from fire in the background.

Yea those wolves have done a number on the mule deer and elk. 25 years ago there was elk everywhere in the cda and St Joe Mountains

Unfortunately that's the case around here alot anymore, you put 20 miles on your boots and don't see anything bigger than a squirrel. The hunting pressure is insanely high the past 5 years especially, and with as many wolves as there are wandering the hills, there isn't much left alive in the northern reaches of ID anymore
