in late 2008?& i was driving and a beautiful Touré song came on the radio, (was college radio station KCSB, Santa Barbara, California)& i was really appreciating him being on any radio here, soaking it up in the sunset... & then in the break the dj talked about Tourē & what he means & then said that he had died a couple years earlier..... i hadn't heard & it saddened me how this amazing presence was gone, but im hearing him & it just hit me out of the blue, peace to our brother Ali Farka Touré 🙏🏼🌱🐾🐾👣🌿🕊️😎 and may you know Gods grace 🙏🏼

Fabulous portrait of Ali! And there are musical riffs in here, that I've never heard recorded anywhere else! Thank you! And drinking tea listening to Otis Redding is a priceless moment. What this film shows so well, is how magnificently content Ali was as a musician. What a gift.

A good documentary of epistemic and historical significance achieved through a good blend of visual, auditory and graphic elements. The musical clips are highly panoramic and thus tell interlocking stories. Memorable.

This the the most educational documentary about Ali Farka Toure ,I hope it is adopted into a movie . I also will advocate for a Museum in his honor. I find it fundamentally amazing that with all his devotion to Islam he ( I could be wrong & stand to be corrected) was never invited to perform in the highest echelons of Muslim Countries one would expect he would be welcomed. All his successful shows & fame came from non Muslim countries. What does that say about ?

FR! I came to the comments to say the exact thing! If I was there, I'd be dancing in my seat & having a hard time not to make a goof out of myself enjoying every second of it. They have no idea what a legend was in front of their eyes, being under appreciated.

@KBIROU Youssef Hey thanks, appreciate it! I actually found it myself by searching through his discography and eventually landing on the Niafunke album! Possibly my favourite song by Ali now.
