Most of the things the villains do are total bullshit. The Mime battle, for instance. He declared an attack on Buster Blader using Slifer, then Pharaoh used a trap to weaken Slifer so Buster Blader's attack power was higher. The Mime then somehow used Jam Defender to defend Slifer from the attack that it was making against the enemy. The Winged Dragon of Rah was entirely built on "Randomly gain new abilities at any point just for dramatic effect."

This was absolutely amazing. Not only was everyone hilarious, but *Yami Marik* was the one who tried to play things more or less straight and was driven crazy by everyone else's antics. It's so perfect that I can't help but wonder if Atem was intentionally trolling Yami Marik as payback for hurting his friends; Yami Marik wants a serious duel where he breaks and hurts the Pharaoh, and Atem's not going to give him the satisfaction.

In the previous episodes, all the times Ra has been called Mega Ultra Chicken also had an "Arise Chicken" joke in there too. If you don't have one, you can't have the other. Plus, considering how long ago the Gummy Bears joke was in comparison to Mega Ultra Chicken (last heard in Desperately Dueling Susan), I don't think LK forgot it; it seems more likely that he chose to leave it out because of reasons just like how Slifer went back to being a dragon instead of an executive producer.

11:11 Poetic Subtext: Yugi "becoming a different person when he duels" is a beautiful metaphor in the original manga. Takahashi-sama makes it much clearer in the manga that it's Yugi that is doing the dueling, not Yami coaching Yugi. Yugi "changing" is a much more heroic stance because of it. Tristan is the only person who truly understands Yugi.
