Yamamoto was way too OP to be defeated without using cheats/hacks..1st foul of this fight was that he was matched equally in Shikai by a clone who copied only memories and not powers/abilities like the clone Zaraki fought, 2nd foul was that they made Yama give up the fight as long as his Bankai was stolen; this man had a wide array of abilities to continue fighting like Kido or Hakuda, his fighting spirit was unbreakable!
