Do you only say עס האט אנגעהויבן or do you add זיך? Is it like if you were to say just ווא instead of the full וואס? Or like אגעדאווענט instead of the full אפ?

I add זיך because it’s a reflexive verb. I do say ווא instead of וואס in spoken language but not אגעדאווענט. 😃 this may vary from dialect to dialect tho. Hope this helps

@@multisingual1241 I was wondering about the זיך because I don't think I heard you say that in the video with it starting to show but it's hard to find that timestamp but I didn't see it in the captioning also. Was that a mistake or is that the way it's spoken?

@morehn My mistake; you can say עס האט אנגעהויבן without זיך if the next thing in the sentence is an infinite verb. Like עס האט אנגעהויבן צוּ רעגענען ( it has begun to rain) although sometimes u may not hear the זיך because in colloquial Yiddish, it can just sound like just צך at the end of the verb. For example “ס׳האטצך געטוען “

@@multisingual1241 are both ways of saying it the way it's said? Is one more casual? Either one more common? I like to know the technically correct way to say things, but it's more important to me to know the actual street language and not sound like an academic like if I were speaking biblical Hebrew in Israel.
