Australia has brought some awesome vets. Shame more vets aren't like Scott. The 1s near where I live, care more about money then the welfare of the animal 😢

They took the dog to an emergency vet and they didn't x-ray her?

What would that have helped? Scott would have redone the x-ray anyway.

@@tamfuwing1it should be standard procedure to take an x-ray of a potentially broken limb. That emergency place did not do their job!

The emergency vet should have taken an x-ray find out what happened and has the surgery the same day by an orthopedic surgeon vet…

Guys, this is England it is different there. I hear vetting is more expensive there. Emergency vet stabilized and gave pain meds.

Bones I broke years ago still will ache when a storm front comes thru. I can't imagine havingpins or plates!

I had flat foot reconstructions on both of my feet needing screws and pins and so do I! It’s not fun especially with pressure changes.

Fifi may be small and frail, but instinct tells me she didn't just fall off the sofa. There's something the owners aren't telling Scott, and my guess is it involves that boy😮.

You could see that Scott didn’t really believe them either. Maybe the boy accidentally jumped on her? But we’ll never know.

I wish Dr Scott hadn't said to Royston and Laura "your worst fears were realized"... that only happened because they refused to get her spayed and she became very ill. The anaesthetic was only very risky because she was so sick

People in many other countries don't routinely neuter their animals. Scientists perform medical tests on dogs because they're so much like us and, having gone through menopause, I wouldn't inflict it on a beloved pet unless it was absolutely necessary. I certainly wouldn't do it to a puppy or kitten - can you imagine the consequences of neutering a small child? Pyometra doesn't necessarily require sterilization; I had a dog who recovered easily with antibiotics. Daisy's reaction to the anesthetic proves that the owner was right; I hate it when vets try to teach owners a lesson. Dr. Scott knew that if he had cured Daisy, as he could have done, the owners wouldn't have agreed to surgery. He risked her life to get his way.

@@victoriaguerin2851 No, that's absolutely not the case. Pyometra, when to the point that the dog is ill (which is the only time it's caught, 99.9% of the time), is only curable by sterilization. A round of antibiotics simply isn't enough. Also, dogs do not undergo menopause as you know it, even when they no longer ovulate. Very few species do, actually (humans do of course, as do orcas). Remaining in tact, for domestic animals, also gives many more risks, including MUCH higher rates of ovarian, uterine, and mammary cancers. While dogs don't need to get spayed/neutered quite as young as many get them, in the case of dogs, the fewer heats/cycles they have, the lower the risks for them. The only reason to wait for dogs is for large dogs to ensure their growth plates have closed. That's it. I think this is you trying to justify not spending money on your dogs, or using your dogs as money machines, irresponsibility breeding.

@@victoriaguerin2851um... No the reason ahe stopped breathing was because her body was toxic and fighting infection as it was. Dogs are NOT like humans in the slightest. Maybe dont trust third world "research"

I so wish I was encouraged to follow potential dreams when I was a youth. I didn't start volunteering at the SPCA until I was in my early forties, on my own accord, amidst a full-time job and 2 youngsters. Believe me I have exposed my children to the same, and future options!!!

I wanted to be a vet when I was little, until my mom told me I would have to euthanize animals and not only help them get better. As I went through school I ended up being very bad at chemistry so any medical career was out of the question. But I would still like to work with animals somehow. I think when I get more time I will volunteer.

Spaying/Neutering is for the animals good health !!! I get so angry at ignorant people who won’t do it for Dumb reasons …&, then they get so upset when it comes to cancer or other diseases & , it’s so Preventable 😡‼️😡

There is no way that dog ended up with a fracture like that just falling one foot from the couch!!! The kid stepped on his leg, that’s what happened!!!

@@jeno264, 💯, plus, there's the floor type as well. I had a friend who lived in a converted auto shop; all the floors were concrete. I could easily imagine a small dog leaping off a couch onto that kind of floor, landing wrong, and breaking a limb.

I felt the same way!!! I felt they were hiding the way she was actually hurt!! Small dog or not that dog didn't break her leg that badly especially just falling off the couch!!!
