Yikes! Hammond Collection Jurassic Park 3 Male Raptor (In Depth Review)

In this video I review the brand new, Hammond Collection JP3 Male Raptor. I am really happy to get this figure relatively early and review it for you guys. This one was really underwhelming and not much of an improvement at all over the previous Hammond raptors.

Everyone is saying it’s ugly, but if it has these colours everyone is going to know it’s the jp3 raptor, it doesn’t need to have painted do-claws when they’re basically invisible, it doesn’t need a better head sculpt when I saw it’s articutlarion and sculpt was better than the last velociraptor, I knew I was getting it

You could also just cut the toes off at the starting point, then cut the toes about where the claw begins, then glue them back on and they look much better. I know the paint could definitely be done better but I'm lad they at least gave it the dilo neck because it allows for much more cooler poses. I still will pick up a few but I might give them a paint of a paint job to darken the grey because I feel like thats my biggest issue aside from the feet.

I don't mind the raptor look but the only thing I did to edit it was change the feet. I like the evil look of the head plus it seems more real. But that's just my opinion.

I dont see whats wrong with it at all, its accurate paint with the exact same sculpt as the old raptor other than the head, and the head is much better then the amber collection one. Its nothing but a complete upgrade from the amber collection version. Other than the goofy ass feet it looks straight outta the movie I don’t understand the hate whatsoever

I'm a light jurrassic collector and don't really care about proportions or accuracy and I just want some cool raptors. Sadly this isn't well made in comparison to the movie. Oh well for me atleast it has some improvements like the teeth and head movement

I'm okay with the toy looking *slightly* different than the movie counterpart. It doesn't need to be 100% screen accurate blah blah blah. However, when they are *this* different to the point where it is barely recognisable to what it is trying to be? Yeah that does annoy me quite a bit.

Glad to catch wind of this review. Canceled my pre-order for this on BBTS. Looks terrible (both head sculpt and paint apps), and after waiting since 2018 since the Legacy Collection iteration was canceled, this feels like a slap in the face, especially considering the target audience who have been waiting years for something like this to come out. In case anyone is wondering, the other 2023 JPIII male raptor, the electronic Epic Attack figure, also suffers from the same awful head sculpt. What I also don't get is the older 2018 Legacy sculpt had a way better head sculpt then what they gave this. It's like they didn't even try.

@@AtrociCollector Quills are the same shape and placement on the HC one, and the eyes are also squinty on that one, which leads me to believe it is the same head sculpt. That one also has even worse/bare minimum paint apps, and that Hasbro like electronic feature.

Ofc the hate is understandable for the Epic Attack line. Should have stuck w 2022 Extreme Damage for another year or 2 since they did the same with the OG battle damage. Also I checked, the quills on EA look like actual quills rather than HC which looks like tiny feathers clumped up in one spot

@FreddyDres Yeah. I got lucky with a decent AC one, but I keep it in box. Also out of scale as said. Honestly none are ideal and that's why I'm so disappointed. Been waiting since the 2018 Legacy one got canceled hasn't helped either, aside from it being my favorite raptor design, tied with TLW male.

What a letdown with this figure, it was too much to be true... I mean, they always mess up with the jaw and for a figure that costs quite more than the base figure and being designed for collectors, it's such a shame of a figure, not even correctly painted. What's the problem on these guys avoiding articulations and battle posses? It's not like we're not gonna buy them if they cost 10 dollars more but you can ACTUALLY pose them

The Hammond Collection Jurassic Park 3 Male Raptor would be even better with especially the shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 or 1/4 shorter than the head would be enough) in order to avoid that they looks like a kangaroo, the jaws or even the slightly longer head as well as the tail. I so will want Mattel would also do in Hammond Collection : -Jurassic World Tyrannosaurus Rex with especially the shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 shorter than the head), and all the scars : those on the right, on the muzzle, and those on the left especially at the level of the shoulder; -Jurassic Park III Tyrannosaurus Rex with especially the shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 shorter than the head), and the scars those on the right muzzle; -Pyroraptor with specially the smaller and shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 or 1/4 shorter than the head); -Spinosaurus with tail measuring halfway through the total length of the body, the bigger sail, and the feet not so big (the feet 1/2 shorter than the head); -Suchomimus with tail measuring halfway through the total length of the body, and the feet not so long (the feet 1/2 shorter than the head); -Velociraptor Blue with especially the shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 or 1/4 shorter than the head); -Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Teratophoneus with especially the shorter feet than the head (the feet 1/3 shorter than the head).
