I can start my truck with five 2.9Ah LTO batteries in the winter and have they'll charge off of the stock charging circuit. You can't beat 10-20k cycles. I've had them all. LTO is the safest and longest lasting to me so far.

huge problem is yinlong in 6s is NOT fully charged at 15v ... 16.8v is the max charge . however most car audio is 16v stable so lets say even 15.6v is going to be a HUGE difference vs 15v , also the yinlong dropped to where the winstons started at basically in voltage . add in the recharge factors with your alternator and the fact music is not constant and there is a clear winner . unless you like 11-12v .

Yeah, first thing I noticed was the yin lung was in the 14s for quite a while while the batteries which I don't know what they are dropped into the 13s and 12s immediately. What does that mean? More current pool. More heat, more stress and amplifier unless efficiency. I mean I guess if you're just trying to play with the radio on but the engine off the ying lungs aren't as good because the capacity is less. Other than that I think they win

Yes. But I think we should convert all of our lithium battery's into lithium-titanate they have a 30 year life span where lithium has like 800 something life cycles witch means there trash after that and lithium is horrible on our environment mining it recycling it or especially dumping it.. don't let our president fool you with this going green BS we have to store all this energy from solar panels and wind turbines witch in themselves also suck at being "green" and China right now Is doing so much lithium mining its not even funny. If you have time look up how bad is lithium mining for our environment lol your gonna see you been lied too this hole time..

Technically this test was useless, u can not compare different energies stored in those 2 types of batteries and expect results to be the same. You could for instance compare the total amount of energy each battery type can backup during their whole lifespan if you you consider their cost to be the same and give conclusions. Remember the strength of LTO is in the number of cycles, the range of temperature within which it can operate.

I have been doing tests on these batteries for 2 years. The problem that these batteries after charging up to 2.8V are quickly discharged automatically. In addition, each cells does not charge correctly. So at the moment of electronic calibration you will lose the total battery voltage. So, after a whole day of calibration, you need to recharge them again. I have batteries of the same company as you. I approach these batteries sold by individual Chinese shops are waste (bad somehow) from a large company - Yinlong. To buy good batteries, you need to apply directly to the manufacturer

Why are you charging LiFeP04 to 14.9? There's no capacity to be gained in the upper region. I think charging to 3.65 is silly but that was closer to 3.72 (if the cells were balanced and without seeing anything to assist in balancing you could have easily had a cell above 4) 4.2 is the safe max charge voltage but its just unnecessary stress

Remember that music have a lot of peak so if you have like 10kw of audio amplifier you need 200ah of wiston (wiston in this case is a 3c so from 200ah you have like 600A) with lto cells for the same kw you need like 80ah 6c 480A 10c peak 800A with 120ah is better... but at the same time with lto you need a big ass alternator to charge them fast.

I am still glad I went with LTO. Higher discharge and charge to recover from high amp pull loads. I can charge my bank with the full 370amps my alt can put out. I can pull a continuous discharge of over 600amps. LTO is not as temperature sensitive as LiFePO4 as I can charge when temps hit freezing. I can put a drill through an LTO or drain it to zero volts and have no fire. Who runs there stereo systems with car turned off until batteries are dead? Cost and Length of run time is not the specs that matter in a system with an alternator.

for greater autonomy and power, Lithium, lifepo4 is still better, precisely because it has been on the market for longer. However, LTO lasts much longer (charge cycle) and has greater voltage stability, in addition to discharging energy and charging it with more energy, it discharges even more 2C. in other words, it depends on the type of equipment and time to choose the best one;

You got it kinda wrong, these yellow cells are lithium cells aswell as yinlongs, those yellow ones are lifepo4 in harder boxes, yinlongs are LTO cells wich is short for Lithium Titanate Oxide, lto is better as lifepo4 doesn't offer that much C (Amps for Ah) most lifepo4 will do 3c, meantime yinlongs do easly 10c (peak) so for 35Ah yinlong cells thats 350 Amps of current, there are also shengs wich are tiny 6ah lto cells that can do peak 60C wich is ceazy high current from such small batts, there are also Xalts wich are 60Ah lto cells wich can do 10C constant discharge aswell as charge 600 amps per cell, and 20c peak discharge for ~10s wich is 1200 amps from single cell or 1 bank of cells usually 6 in car audio. Yinlongs are common nowdays in car audio becouse banks of them are easy to assemble you got your heltec balancers and many people make aluminium or copper bridges for them, xalts are more complicated as connectors aren't screws so you need to either weld them or solder or press them wich is harder to make good connection with. Also xalts are pouch cells they wich means you can easly accidentally puncture the cells meantime yinlongs have hard metal outer shell, xalts need to be inside some battery case, thry are also very very large becouse of being thin. Im planning to do custom banks of xalts for people, as i get the cells little more pricy than yinlongs but for 60Ah its a good deal and for 1200 amps of current. Good job guys, keep the work!

Creo que sí se podría utilizar las dos químicas en un mismo sistema, las lto servirían para cubrir los picos de corriente, mientras que las lfp aumentarían la duración de trabajo del sistema, el único inconveniente serían los voltajes nominales de cada tipo de química.

You shouldn't charge lifepo4 over 90 percent or discharge below 20 for longevity so you loose 30 percent of your power also there is no risk of fires from lto and you can charge a 100 percent and discharge to zero. Lto doesn't have issues charging when below freezing so in cold climates you don't need to figure out how to heat your batteries. C rates are important lto are 10c vs 1 or 2 for lifepo4 if exceeded they will die fast or catch fire 🔥 😳 😅

I think we should be converting all our lithium battery's into them lithium-titanate batteries honestly a 30 year life span is amazing compared to lithium that has only like 800 life cycles normally witch means its gonna turn into garbage after 800 and something charges and as someone that's been playing with electronics since I was a kid that fact that we wanna go green yet people don't realize that lithium absolutely destroys our environment mining it and having to recycle it or especially dumping it.....

So you charge your yinlong bank to 2.525v/cell out of 2.8v/cell, and your winstons to 3.73v/cell out of 3.8v/cell and then you do a capacity test with a bank almost 2x the size from a higher overall SOC initially? What did you expect to happen? It's common knowledge that lifepo4 is cheaper than LTO on a comparative basis in terms of capacity. So not quite sure what you're trying to show with the test, but realistically it was common sense to expect those results even in a perfect test (with lto actually charged to 100% soc) unless you've got Lifepo4 cells that aren't testing anywhere near 100% capacity to begin with (highly cycled cells). Furthermore you're testing an LTO bank @ 2-2.5c vs a lifepo4 bank @ 1.3c. There's so many things wrong with this test it's not even worth dissecting it anymore. If you want capacity for $ value go buy a bunch of A123 bus modules. You'll get way more usable capacity for $1500 than either of these options. Let's not forget your lifepo4 cells are going to be toast in terms of usable capacity after 1/4th the cycles in comparison to LTO cells.
@Rick-pl5ey
@Rick-pl5ey 2 жыл бұрын
It is just a test of what you can get for 1500 bucks, and a comparison of what you get. I full well expected higher capacity from the LFP. In a standard 12V inverter test you just can't get to use LTO's to their full capacity. The other immeasurable number is how hard the LTO's work to do the same job. Im willing to bet the LTO's didn't break a sweat during this test. Though I did expect him to charge to at least full capacity, but this does accurately represent most alternators out there and their output.
